Money coming in for OL and DL.. Great news
I saw a person post that 90% of our fans want Lebby gone. First, that's nowhere near accurate. And to try and sell that point is nothing more than a miserable's attempt to bring everybody down to their level so they are not lonely.
The fact is that what Lebby has done has been incredible. We were in games we should not have been and the money see's it too. We have the dollars to go shopping specifically for an OL and DL from the portal. And that's great news. It doesn't matter if you like Lebby or not. The fact is we have more money now and know that we are willing to dig deep come what may.
If Lebby fails, we know what we can offer.

I’ll believe it when I see it. Our “big money boosters” have not shown up when we needed them more than they have actually shown up. It’s all talk until there are actual results.

Rosebowl is reporting this too (and that may be where the OP got the info), but I don't think he'd report it unless he felt there was a good chance of it coming to fruition

I would rather have money for Oline and Dline than a single coaching change. Jimmy and Joes are what we need more than anything else.

It's painfully obvious. I do think we need a NEW DL coach.

Any idea on about how much we we will have in NIL to spend this offseason?

Good question. If we could get to 25M, KT sticks around on his current deal, and we replace Turner/Odom we 100% can be a fringe playoff team next year.

No doubt this is a focus area. I've always said this and the fact that MSU can always get good athletes to be good enough with LOS being good.
This year though, we were good enough in both areas to win 8 games period. Losing Whitson early really hurt us too.
With that I assume Whitson will come back? Anyone heard?

Someone posted after the ASU game that losing Whitson cost us two games. They were wrong. It cost us three.
Texas Tech spent $7 million just on their DL last year. And if you have watched a few of their games you can tell it was money well spent.

Whitson was a game changer and I tend to agree. He stopped at least 2-3 drives a game with pressure and negative plays. Looking back at Dan and Jackie's good teams the DL and DE were just dominant every time. Lets get back to MSU DLU.

He should be the lesson for us as fans. There was nobody to take his spot. This is why we need NIL increases. We need depth as much as starters. Not "OPne day they will be ready" but they are ready but the starter is just a little bit better.

You mean just in NIL? Or are you adding rev share to that too?
Rev share will be about 15 million. NIL on top of that, not sure. I would guess 5-7.

So we are looking at a total of about 20-25 million for football this portal season?

I will admit I've been on both sides of the fence this year with Lebby. Being competitive while being vastly out talented (on paper atleast) with our schedule this year has been incredible. But at the same time you can say coaching has been a big factor in our losses. I'm going to support Lebby, his assistants, and every player as long as they wear the Maroon and White but at the same time it's okay to state the obvious when it comes to decisions by coaches and performance by the players. Very encouraging to hear we have some money for the portal. If we can keep KT, get some dudes in the trenches, and improve/learn from some coaching mistakes then next year gets very exciting.

Replacing some assistant coaches might help us in recruting.

Lebby fits into an interesting shell because he has the first coach we have had in awhile that isn?t either seen as really good or really bad. Croom, Moorhead and Arnett were awful. Mullen and Leach were good to great. Right now I would say Lebby is in the middle, but if he can grow on the job and not be stubborn and identify his mistakes he can be really good

Neither have our fans. And don't tell me that buying tickets and showing up for games is all the fans have to do.

Even if that’s all we have to do, we don’t

I agree. He can be really good if he can learn from mistakes and move forward. He is good and bad at the same time. Very odd thing to say and unless you see it with your own eyes you would say there is no way.

Yep, I feel like my constant talk about OL and DL for the past week has done more good for MSU than all the money or tickets I have ever donated or purchased.
Seriously though, look at what Lebby has done, with this absolute disaster of an OL and DL. Those two position groups make or break your team. If we had Alabama's OL and DL right now, we would be undefeated. I am serious about that. Undefeated.
We would be better than Georgia. We may be the 3rd best team in the country, if we had OSU, Georgia, or Bama's OL and DL. That is how bad not blocking on the OL and getting zero pressure on QBs and no TFL for the DL makes us.
We would be undefeated right now if we had 2014 OL and 2018 DL. Hell, Fluff and Booth would be up for awards if they didn't have to juke two guys before getting the handoff.
