Just curious how many starters does Ole Miss lose after this year?

After what they lost last year it doesn't matter. LK and his staff can go find talent, evaluate the talent correctly and get them. Unlike someone we know, Hey we lucked out with BT and Evans.

Supposedly yesterday Keith Carter told Lane that he needed to make up his mind now. He either signs his extension and stays the coach or he moves on. Lane didn?t sign the extension.

There actually may be something to him not coaching the Egg Bowl.

Hey, I know I basically never post. Hell, most of you probably won't even recognize my user name. I live in Fort Worth and normally have NO connections.

However, this time I MIGHT. My son is a junior at LSU (family disappointment, but beside the point right now). Per what he is hearing and texting to me; Lane's son has enrolled in the on campus HS at LSU as of today with an NIL deal. Lane to LSU will be announced in next 48 hrs. $13.5M/yr. Baker & def staff to stay on at LSU. Lane would NOT coach in the EB or playoffs.

No idea how true any of this is, so y'all can excoriate me mercilessly if none of this turns out to be true. Just thought I would pass it along.

I'm not trying poopoo the source here, but I doubt that one happens. At least in the next 48 hrs. That would be a hell of a pull to only have to pay 13.5 though. Also, it would be kind of hard for Knox to QB Oxford HS in the playoffs if he was enrolled at University Lab. It's actually illegal and Oxford would have to forfeit any remaining playoff games.

No way this can last 2 weeks til after the egg bowl without a resolution.

Also this is the ultimate kick to the nuts of Ole Miss fans who think Oxford is the greatest thing on earth. A coach literally wanting to leave despite playing in the playoffs. All I can do is laugh my ass off at that reality check

Well the assts would all have to resign because they can't work for two state schools at the same time. So IF he was taking it in 48 hours and taking them with him then YES they would not be able to coach the bowl game.

No worries, I have a thick skin. Son said he is hearing that Knox will enroll at UL after Thanksgiving. I have no idea what the MS HS playoff schedule looks like. I agree, $13.5 seemed a little "light" to me. And 48 hours seemed pretty quick to me as well, but w/ a bye week, it seems at least slightly plausible. Guess we'll see. It may all be just wishful thinking by LSU faithful, especially on the time line. Now, I could see Knox enrolling at UL for next semester - wouldn't be hard for Layla & whomever else to stay behind in Oxford until playoffs are completed (although Oxford High folks may not want Knox around if daddy leaves for their "real" rival.
