the schedule gets tougher for them next year, right? Before this week he could do no wrong; but after the stalling and talking with florida, he has lost a little bit of grace. If he stays put, he will be making alot of money with a tougher road to make the playoffs going forward. I wonder how many years of missing the playoffs before they start bitching; especially when they realize they have spent alot of money that could have gone to other sports.

Just as Mullen did with Fla when he took our job- there are things he can be doing to get things going at Fla while he is still coaching Mississippi and getting them ready for playoff match-ups. Right now you are just hearing a bunch of what-ifs and butthurt comments from people
If he is going to take the Florida job, I don't think he coaches OM in a playoff game. If he is coaching OM in Rd 1 of the playoffs, he is not leaving OM for another college job. I still think there is some NFL interest with him as well. The Titans, Dolphins, and Giants all seem to be interested.

The Ross Dellinger puff piece has OM stepping away from the edge.

The only problem is that signing day is December 3rd, playoff announcement is December 7th. If they go 1-1 the next two weeks (that would be my bet) I still think they get in as a 9-10 seed.
Florida going to wait until after first round of playoffs - i.e. December 19-20? I don't see that happening. Also, if they are going to wait - are the bears going to let it play out like that? I mean the portal opens January 2nd. What happens if they win a playoff game?
The logistics are a nightmare for both the bears and gators.

If Kiffin takes the Florida job he will not be coaching OM in the playoffs. Florida is not waiting until January to get a coach on the ground recruiting and rebuilding the program. I just can?t see Kiffin coaching OM on the sidelines during a playoff game while the announcers in the both are talking about how he?s officially leaving for Florida once the playoffs are over. And it would be even more hilarious if they are talking to Scott Strickland in the booth as they?re doing this.

Why not? They are already going to be after the Dec signing period. Next signing period is in Feb- having a new HC that just made a run in the playoffs would be a prime headliner and something to sell to new players instead of "hey- meet Coach Drink- he just went 7-5 at Mizzou this past season!!!!!!"

Kiffin would take every good player Ole Dixie has available with him to Florida. Transfers and portals are the new recruiting now days.

Man, I just cannot see Lane Kiffin coaching in a playoff game when everyone knows he is legitimately and officially going to Florida. How are the OM people gonna cheer that on? Talk about bittersweet.

I dont get that way of thinking. How could you not cheer for your team in the playoffs? Special years are few and far between- why worry about next year?
When we were in Omaha in 2021- I wasnt worried about 2022 at all

I was in Omaha in 2021 and went to a Taro Card Reading and saw the future for 2022 and 2023. It wasn?t pleasant to look at. And the reader even told me 2024 would be somewhat better but it would be fools gold and by mid 2024 I would finally get some decent knews! Man, that Reader was spot on!!!

There is a possibility of Oxford High playing in the 7A north final on the same day as the BFTGE and if they were to win that, the 7A state final is also in starkville on saturday Dec 6 . Maybe Lame waits til Knox's high school season is over before anything goes public. Just a thought and that would keep the velvet ditch crazies at bay.

Nothing short of Lane signing an extension is going to keep them at bay.

Anyone know the EQ truck driver for Florida? I?d pay him a tidy sum to park that truck in front of Kiffens house tonight and tomorrow.

And Lemonis wasn't named the head coach of another baseball program while coaching in the dugout either.
Lane Kiffin officially going to Florida but still coaching ole miss in the playoffs is going to be the most surreal shit in college football.

I could see it. Coaches have coached in bowl games before when they knew they were going somewhere else and it was announced that they were leaving.
Kiffin tried to do that at Alabama but Saban essentially made him leave because he was focusing too much on Florida Atlantic.
Every time Kiffin leaves somewhere it is awkward so who knows how it will go down?

If Kiffin is leaving for Florida he'd be a nut to leave until after the season ends. There's no guarantee he'll ever get back to this point if Ole Miss is a playoff team.
