They are hearing the same things I have heard for about the last 3-4 days. Florida boosters are growing more confident by the day that they have this thing done. The tide started to change in Oxford Sunday morning.

So what happened Saturday night?
Did the kids give their blessing this time?

The one daughter will not be in Oxford much longer it seems, as far as education. The youngest daughter is a freshman at USC. The son, sounds like he might be landing at a really good Florida school that is capable of implementing the forward pass.

Interesting thread on 6pack.
Seems like Florida players have been told today that Kiffin is going to be their new coach.

If Lane is staying he better get in front of this Saturday bc there are a bunch of OM folks on X calling him out. The natives are getting restless.

There was a call with Jimmy Sexton with some demands Lane had and Hugh Hathcock and the Florida brass met all of them. Salary is north of 15 per from what I was told and that has been basically verified by some OM people. I have said all week, and continue to kind of hear it, it is going to be REALLY TESTY Saturday in Oxford. It is not going to be a comfortable atmosphere. I actually think Kiffin will bury Florida Saturday night. I actually think that benefits him more.

The press conference Saturday night is going to tell a lot. There will be Florida beat writers in there that will make those Jon Sokoloff questions 3 years ago seem like softballs.
Now could all this be posturing on the part of Kiffin? Absolutely. He could be the Are You Ready chant Saturday night while signing his contract with Carter. At this point, I do not believe that will happen. I think the Florida thing is VERY REAL. Their brass is extremely confident.

People on the Florida boards are saying Lane will officially be named Monday.
Does he coach the Egg Bowl?
Wow.

I just can't see that happening when his team in all likelihood is going to the playoffs...

I never thought I'd see it, but there's some real confidence from their side right now. And with the bye week upcoming.....I mean.
I will say the chances of that happening are like 1% but in the words of Matt Moscona, "Coaching searches are crazy. Live by one rule: "Believe nothing but consider everything."
I will say that IF he takes the job, I do not believe he coaches a playoff game at OM.

If Lane is taking the Florida job he isn?t waiting until after the playoffs (and I am sure Florida isn?t going to wait until January to name him head coach). If he becomes the next head coach his primary and sole concern is the Florida football program not OM. At that point OM has to fend for themselves with Golding as interim.

I think Joe Judge would actually be the interim so they could keep the structure the same. I actually think Joe would have a decent shot at the full time job too. I still think their list is:
1. Sumrall
2. Golding
3. Judge

If Lane leaves before the playoffs I foresee some business decisions being made by the players.
If Joe can keep it together after Kiffin leaves he would need a good look as full time HC.

Either he stays and it is one of the greatest troll/pay shakedown/ art ever seen. If he leaves......he really screws the om power structure.....I personally think he stays....milks om law school for everything they need to file another class action lawsuit over, and gets within one or wins the NC. I truly hope I am an idiot and horribly wrong.......but I have a very bad feeling .....Coach Lebby....GO DOGS.....IN CLOSING THERE IS NO WAY he quits before the playoffs.......makes absolutely NO SENSE...

Now I will admit OM is a solid team with some lucky breaks, but from watching Big 10 football the past decade and seeing Ohio State play this year, ain?t no way in hell does OM beat them

just adding to that, doesn't Lane also have a few Florida commits visiting the game? That is funny.

Just curious how many starters does Ole Miss lose after this year?
