Chris Jans = Dan Mullen. Brought us out of being a SEC bottom dweller but couldn?t move past middle of the pack.
We were due for a down year, it looks like we are about to have it. Just bc it?s year 4 doesn?t mean we are supposed to be better than year 3. The graph doesn?t always go up.
What concerns me is our portal evaluations. Jans made a concerted effort to sacrifice offense for defense. That is not the way.
Stop trying to find 10-11 good players and instead go get 6 really good to great players.

Investment is one criterion. Having a top coach is another. Jans is #8 in the SEC in terms of salary at $4.2 million and 18th in the country. That's a top 5 seed.

He was told whatever he needs he has it available if needed. His problem is getting guys interested in playing in his system

I find it hard to believe in this environment that he can't get good guys with unlimited funds.

Tonight was totally unacceptable though, and Jans needs to fix it before Kansas st

Jans should have to answer for Ballard getting less mins than macura, Davis-Fleming, and grace. Ballard only had 1 foul

Well maybe that?s youre problem then. You create your own truth even when someone else tells you otherwise
Murphy didnt want to play for him anymore despite how much we offered. He told Kugel to look elsewhere but he was tired of getting railed on as well. Players today want to play in offensive system and score. And they want a system that can develop and showcase their ability scoring. They dont want to spend 70 percent of their practices working on defense
Btw kugel has scored 25 and 19 his first 2 games

That alone doesn't change the outcome but certainly is hard to understand.

You aren't saying anything though. I asked you a number, and you can't give it. You say we're top half, but you don't know our number, so how can you know that?

I dont have to tell you a number. I?m involved with the program. Don?t care about your affirmation

To be top half, we'd have to at least be at 8 million. Ark, Tenn, Texas, Florida, auburn, Kentucky, and bama are all reported at that number with ark and UK at 10.

We certainly have the money to put together a competitive roster.

Btw, state was 6th in the sec in scoring last season at 79.5 PPG.

I agree with that. I'm not saying we don't have enough to compete. I'm saying we aren't top half of the sec in spending

Hubbard, Murphy and Kugel would have been a fun team to watch.

And Jans hated it. He lamented that style of play which was and is very disheartening.

Sucks bc it's more fun. I don't think guys are turning down more money here bc of it though. Tenn doesn't score at all and they load up every season.

I like Jan?s a lot but his way of thinking is off.
The strategy LAST year was the right strategy - get guys who can score
And make them play D.
At the end of the day you need to be able to score about 80 and we may not be capable.
I would play
Warren
Hubbard
McGhee
Walker
The bug guy
