Quote from Jans about the first half "We had a couple of lineups in that probably weren't our best". In other words, Jans was experimenting, introducing adversity, etc. He wanted to try some things and see how guys responded. He wanted to test some different combinations. You could see that in the first half especially. As time goes on the roles will become more defined and you will see us come together. There are concerns, but there is also some real potential.

2. Our 3 pt shooting was NOT GREAT. I do think that will come around though. Epps and Jones being a combined 2-10 kind of sink our numbers.
3. Achor and Ballard rebounded well in the minutes they were in and I think the scoring will come, especially with Ballard
4. Macura is going to be very good. I could see him starting over Achor before conference play begins. Same with McGhee over Epps.
5. McGhee is a DAWG in every sense of the word. You can see why Andy Kennedy really liked him as a player out of HS. I think he's going to play a big role for us moving forward.
6. Really proud of the defensive effort the last 16 minutes. From the 16:02 mark of the second half on, we outscored them 44-11. We really put the clamps on them.
Macura is definitely intriguing. I think he came in late in the offseason, so he is still getting acclimated. He has some skills to help us.

I like this team. They are big and physical. Will we shoot the 3 well? Probably not

The seven-footer looked good. As for Epps, in the postgame Jans said that he suffered a concussion against Houston and missed about 8 days. Warren looked to have really stepped up from his freshman year. McGhee looked very good on offense. Jones is a glue guy much like Cam, but I don't think he needs 27 minutes a game, and he took too many threes. As Jans tightens his rotation much like early-season games last year, I think this team has real potential. JMO.
Good insight, I appreciate it and Im glad you were able to make the game. For a Wednesday night playing against North Alabama the crowd didnt look too bad on t.v. how did the crowd look and sound in person?

Yes McGhee is a dawg! I was pleasantly surprised by him last night. He is big, strong and athletic, I loved seeing him and Hubbard on the court together. He has a confident swag that I like also, he didnt play timid or worried at all.

Small sample size but Quincy seems to run the floor fast, but smart , running the seams.

He's played alot of basketball between Florida State and Wichita State so I expect solid production out of him. I like what I saw from Freshman Davis Flenning as well

I thought the times we got out and ran the floor off misses, we were really elite. He was a big part of that. He is a like freight train coming down hill too. Not many want to get in his way.

Just wasn't in the rotation Wednesday night. We're deep right now. I think we'll see him against SLU on the 15th or UNO on the 20th. I highly doubt we see him against Iowa St or Kansas St

From what i observed if Hubbard gets into foul trouble all the other team has to do is go zone because no one else can shoot a 3 consistently especially Jones.

Epps will get it going. He's still getting back into the motion of things after the concussion. McGhee's shot will come. Some of our Freshman now know that college players will guard you on the perimeter. They don't care if you dunk it. They have someone big in the middle. So our freshman now have film to see that they have to get their shot off quicker.
