Yeah - I don't know who else they could hire. I'm sure they will try and hire some up and coming OC, and I guess they could do worse than Durkin, but man they have been in the wilderness since they fired Gus.

I was told yesterday Brent Key has a lot of support on the Plains. I also heard Jon Sumrall has a lot of support there. As for the other jobs:

Arkansas has NO CLUE what they are doing. Legit none. I think they thought Rhett Lashlee was theirs but that ship seems to have sailed. Norvell still has some goodwill there so he could get a look depending on what happens at FSU. I also have heard Golesh's name mentioned there as well as Gus(although I've heard he's done being an HC). Their dream candidate is Drinkwitz but I don't think he'd take it right now unless he was given some really strong NIL assurances. There's also some talk PJ Fleck has some interest in that job.

LSU lost out on Kiffin last week. Jeff Landry screwed them. I've heard Josh Heupel is the dark horse there. I've heard that he's probably candidate 2 behind Kiffin, who's going to tell them no unless Jeff Landry takes a bunch of steps back. I think Drinkwitz would get a strong look here as well if they got past Heupel. Sumrall could get a look here as well. There's a group of NOLA LSU boosters that are pushing him hard. There's also a contingent pushing for Joe Brady, but I don't think they can wait til February to make a hire.

Florida is all in on Kiffin. I'm not completely sure they have a Plan B. I don't think that's any indication of things. I just think they have given Stricklin his marching orders that Kiffin is going to have to turn them down multiple times before they move on. Drinkwitz is probably candidate 2 here. If it gets past that.....maybe Jedd Fisch??

Franklin and Va Tech are wrapping up negotiations and I think they announce him in the next few weeks pending everything gets approved.

Yeah, SEC Shorts taking a shot at Landry tirade causing Kiffin's jet to do a U turn out of Baton Rouge was no joke. LSU is proving to be a bigger shit show than Florida.

I've seen some low key rumors that Willie Fritz is working behind the scenes on a couple of openings. He is interested in Arkansas, so the rumor goes.

I'd be shocked if Brent Key jumps from GT. He is a Tech Man to the core and he wants to win big there. And while Tech may not be all in on NIL, a winning GT can tap into corporate Atlanta in ways most others can't. Rev Share is going to help Tech too.
