Today can be simply explained
We needed that.
Lebby needed that
Shapen needed that.
Bonus? We saw that KT can make a throw with nobody in his face. We saw he can make a long run to expose defenses. We also saw his true freshman side and it will be erratic at times.
But I will say this- for Lebby to go back to Shapen with our OL struggling really bad and KT alleviating some of that? You better win the ****ing football game. Fortunately he did. It would be a shit show right now had he not. But what this also does is give you a few more options down the line and especially for the Egg Bowl when you get 2 weeks to get ready
Huge day for us and the program.

Great post, 34. No notes.
-
It really was the most important football game in years for us.

Nail on the head.
We need Reese back bad.

It kills me how much worse we look without him in the game.

Shows we have zero depth now. Huge concern moving forward and really makes the portal grabs on the OL at the top of our Christmas list

Most definitely. Weakest position group we got

I think we were dead in that game with energy until KT entered and gave us those two scores. Until then, only 7 points in over half the game played. He gave us a huge spark.
I was listening to the 3rd and most of the 4th on Satellite radio. Arkansas broadcasters in the 4th quarter said they would rather have Shapen in there passing the ball than KT running, because they had no answer for him.

Good post

KT needs more snaps. Shapen is clearly the best option passing, but KT opens up the offense.

Not that we don't need more. But losing Reese and steen stings.

Yes.

And he's clearly the future. We need to involve him more.

KT def gave us a shot in the arm. Our OL was ass most of the day. We had zero rushing yards in the 1st half. Thats how ****ing bad they were. But Shapen made some plays and made some decisions/throws that KT would struggle to make at this point.
Shapen stepped up and KT showed he needs a few more plays per game. Win-win. Need the OL to get healthier. Thats the biggest thing.

Yeah- we wont be big spenders in the portal for a QB. That money needs to go to OL/DL

All, we have to get better and deeper on both lines. Injuries have hurt us this season and lack of depth has shown.

OL, DL, and 1 legit WR. We'll lose Thompson

We need to be big spenders on quantitative guys who can find the undervalued talent we can get for cheap. Whoever at Ole Miss knew that this random D2 QB would be good in the SEC did a great job evaluating him.

Shapen seems sharper later in the game, but his throws are just off the mark many times. Hats off to him in the 4th quarter but until then he was not scaring anyone, and Arkansas dared him to throw the whole game.I think we see that in the next 3 games and we better have more plays for KT to get the defense loosened up.
Early in the 4th quarter Time of Possession was Arkansas over 30 minutes, and MSU 15 for the game. If not for KT entering when he did and getting us 2 scores, we were running out of steam . We do not win this game without his playmaking.
