Seriously, we aren?t firing Lebby this year. And I talked to someone yesterday that runs in the big booster circle that told me we are going after a QB in the portal and it will not be on the Temu or Dollar Tree plan. We are going to go big $$$ on a QB that fits the Lebby offense.

Lebby is on the chopping block next year. He is not putting his fate into the hands of raw sophomore QB that cannot read a defense or run the few plays he has been given. I fully believe we are going QB hunting in the portal with a shit ton of money.

I really hope that is true about the QB because we cannot go cheap any longer if we want to compete in this league. The days of state hoping they find diamonds in the rough like Dak are over. We got ourselves behind the 8 ball big time because we were being cheap and had an AD not embracing NIL. Getting a QB that fits Lebbys system needs to be one of the top priorities. Thankfully, I think Selmon realizes this and fully understands what is needed from a financial standpoint to compete

Short memories?? Someone with short memories would say that recently we fired a guy after 2 years of 14-12 (7-9) and then a guy after less than a year despite 3 P5 wins.

And thankfully nearly all of the people involved in those decisions are no longer able to make any decisions for our university or athletic department. We finally have professionals and people that think proactively calling the shots. If you couldn't gauge that from the way the baseball situation was handled then you haven't really been paying attention.

Just a few months ago you insisted that we probably weren't going to fire Lemonis, and if we did, it would absolutely be at the end of the season, not during the season. And after you were wrong about those, you insisted we wouldn't hire Brian O'Connor.

With the coaching changes coming in a month I am sure there will be three or four really good QBs in the portal. We will be on them with a pitch and a paycheck quickly.

Fully agree. We have already hit the over on our win total. We are better than everybody thought we were going to be. It sucks not being 6-1 because we lost two games in the final minute, but we are ahead of schedule.
Wanting to completely blow that up and start over, I don't get that at all.

Yeah. You're so pissed let's completely tank the season by playing a freshman QB "who can scramble" and then fire Lebby to double down on the insanity. And then you'll be pissed that we weren't patient when none of it works out.

Projecting much? I didn't say what we should do. I explicitly said I don't envy the people who have to make these decisions, because there aren't any easy or good ones to be made right now. And most importantly, I said it hinges on whether or not Lebby can find a way to win 1-2 of Texas, Arkansas and OM. If he gets a conference win, it's a moot point. We'll know if there's a decision to be made at all two weeks from now, because we'll either haven't beaten one of the two worst teams left on our schedule or we're staring 0-for the SEC in the face again.

There are college QB?s all over the country that are making their Average to Below Average Olines look much better than they are.
