A lot of our fans don?t understand that there are tons of coaches out there who don?t want to come to the SEC school with the least amount of football funding. Our NIL might be better than it was under Cohen, but we still are not on the same level as the majority of the other SEC teams. That was a dumb decision to call that play, but it?s not like it was a chip shot field goal. Ferrie already missed from 41 yards earlier in the game. I was never even a fan of the Lebby hire but even I am willing to let the season play out and see what happens. We are a lot better team than the last 2 years with a horrible schedule. Had we got UK and UF at home this year we probably win those or USCe. Regardless, he is not losing his job this year even if we go 4-8.

Shapen will make the plays this week. We will win by 13 pts. Then we will beat Arkansas. UM will be a toss up.

I don't think it is near as much on lebby as Shapen for missing two wide open WR, our kicker missing a 41 yard FG, our RB fumbling in the red zone.
Lebby makes mistakes, of course. But I really don't have a problem trying to make it a 37 yarder instead of a 47 yarder when my kicker already missed from 41.

So, Shapen is responsible, but let's put the ball back in his hands in a crucial spot. And somehow it still remains on shapen.

It’s Lebby’s bad call and Shapen’s god awful execution. He was throwing to no one. Shapen is waaaay more to blame in this loss than Lebby. And quit saying Lebby keeps ‘putting Shapen back out there. Obviously, we don’t have a better option or, I would think, Lebby would start him. Our better option got bought from of us and went to AU, which goes back to our NIL.

Regardless of our NIL, I hope we never pay players like Arnold $2 million. He sucks at Auburn.

Yes he does. I think he may have had a better fit with Lebby though and better than what lead foot Shapen is doing

I'm not gonna argue that. Just can't overspend.

There are Lots of players who are overpaid via the NIL, I'm talking about the blue-blood teams. One reason is they are all going after the top portals and bidding against each other. We just need to get the ones in the "3 and 4 star" rankings and fill our needs. Even if we had blue blood money we want be in most kids top list for the so call 5 stars, never have in the past.

So went back and watched the last drive, it was a good call. Lebby called an option route. Shapen made the right read, he just made it too quick and the receiver made the wrong choice. We wanted a quick hitter to the sideline and A) Rickey Johnson messed up the option route and B) It was a quick hitter. Shapen is taught to 1-2-throw out of those. 99% of the time that is the right call. We ran into the 1% where your receiver makes the wrong choice AND the DE drops. Should Shapen have seen him? Yes. He should've taken one second, seen the DE drop, tuck it and run, spike it, and bring out Ferrie.

And who put Johnson on the field at that critical junction in the game? How many catches does he have this year? Everyone in my family was shocked that we didn't run the ball and attempt a field goal. Make it or not, Ferry has the record for the longest made FG in our history and he didn't get the chance for the win. Horrible.

We are the worst program in the P4. At least in perception.

Nope.
Nobody looks at us like Purdue/BC/Northwestern/etc
But we are looked at as the ass end of the SEC. And until we fund football like the rest of the conference- that will continue

Thats the whole thing to me. Id love to be "closer" but the reality is, we start all over next season. Right back where we were this year. We have no idea who's returning, if anyone. You can't build shit unless you've been winning and dont have to settle for pick overs. Fluff, Thompson and Evans were the exceptions.
