We HAVE TO start prioritizing offense more in recruiting
Especially at WR and OL. And to a lesser degree at TE. We just aren't up to par with where we want to be. I know Dan could get by neglecting those positions and win but we have a different coach now.

We are going to need to spend 25-30 million next year to win 5-6 games.
-
What are we at now? Wasn't it at like 15 million?

And DL. We used to be known as DLU. Portal, NIL, Arnett debacle and trying to recruit after 2-10 and 0-8 has really hurt recruiting.

That is insane.

For a 105 man roster that is an average of 100k per player. Again- an average because obviously we are paying guys like Shapen more than the back up long snapper. But it does show perspective.

Todd don't ever disagree with recruiting better everywhere but......
We make one play (Ferrie FG or replay and likely reverse of fumble TD) and we are totally different place today. Most experts say UT is a top 5 team and we just took it to them. Ran it down their throat and the D played lights out against best O in SEC. We have talent now and that was with many 2nd teamers in after we had ton of injuries. This ain't a 2-10 team at all right now.
I don't know why we hold grudges on past coaches. Dan got plenty of really good OL talent. WR talent was good enough and was getting better till he left.

Can a school like State ever afford to pay 30 million for a 1 year roster? This year was very important to spend as much as we could. I guess we will have to pick the years wisely we decide to go all in. It needs to coincide with other schools down years

Based on what I saw last week, we are at 5 million.

Because they are the most important part of the entire football team.

I'm not sure. The good news is I don't think we have to get that much probably. We're really only deficient at one or two spots. In my mind that can be fixed with 2-3 million more probably rather than 15 more.
Now that said I do think that there are times where we have to pick our spots and really go all in like perhaps 2027. Build a veteran team with a favorable schedule.

We are about to find out how much our Defense has improved, or if it was a mirage 2 miles down the wide open highway!
