    Dogs in the Minors/Majors

Hardin gets his 1st win in AA. He just got promoted to Biloxi. Now we have him and KC on our Staff. So Edward still waiting on you to make the drive to come watch them.

Cade should be back in a few weeks, he has been in Tampa with rehab, he is throwing well and feeling great. Man, one thing different about MLB and rehab, different like night and day to college. He had made the jump to the Yankees high AA ball. Jusy saying.

Watchout for those Yankees trainers. I still think they screwed up another former pitchers shoulder. Hunter and Ledbetter are at Montgomery right now.

Hunter Renfroe was released by the Royals. His career is probably over. Rowdey Jordan retired. Jake Mangum continues to impress. Brandon Woodruff is throwing rehab. Brent Rooker is still hitting well. Eric Cerantola isn’t far from the big leagues.

Will Bednar and Logan Tanner still struggling. Logan Tanner is still in A ball and has a career batting average under .200.

Landon Sims is in AA in Amarillo. Go watch him play and grab a steak at the Big Texan on I-40. He is striking guys out, but also walking far too many.

Christian MacLeod has pitched well this year, mostly in AA.

Renfroe had a long career and was able to stick in the Majors for a long time. Had some really solid seasons in Tampa, Boston, and Milwaukee. I always thought that San Diego kind of stunted his growth because they couldn't figure out what to do with him. He would've benefited from a Rooker type situation where a struggling team picks him up and gives him 300 ABs and just lets him work through learning how to be an effective hitter at the MLB level.

The average batting stats for a major league baseball player is .244. When heard this I was sort of surprised.

There's not much value given to ba these days, it's all about the HR's. Makes for a terrible game. It's horrible to watch.

He did have a few solid years. He went through a five year stretch (17,18, 19, 21, and 22 - I disregarded the 2020 short covid season) where he hit .243 with 145 homers. That's a damn good five year run in today's baseball.

That's a hell of a run and I know he was smart with his money. He's set his family up where I doubt his kids will ever have to work if they don't want to.

Two guys that have struggled are from the Vandy team we faced in the CWS. Kumar Rocker is 2-6 with a 6.30 ERA in his major league career. Jack Leiter is 4-7 with a 6.03 ERA in his major league career. Both are still developing however. The Rangers seem content to see if they can work through it and develop. Leiter has certainly pitched much better this year.

I know 4 of the Brewers last 10 1st round picks set records for HRs in the minors. Only one made it to the bigs and he lasted half a season and now is at AA somewhere. Another former 1 is still in Biloxi with 15 HRs and only 32 RBIs. He will make AAA and thats it. If you want to sit there and try to jack dingers all day they WILL figure you out.

Seems AAA is phasing out, high AA is on the rise.

After a good career, Chris Stratton is a Free Agent. His career may be coming to a close, he played 9 or 10 years in the bigs and won a World Series. A great run.
