    Calling you Weather Dogs

I'm just west of Fort Worth, Tx. FB and all the socials calling for bad storms.
    What say you?
I enjoy your input even when it doesn't pertain to us, so thought I'd ask.

Looks like you may thread the needle on the worst of it barring new development. Going just to your east and west.

It got a little dicey in DFW last night. Wind was howling from about 11-12:15ish. Flooding in some areas and some trees down but never heard of a confirmed tornado and no hail in my part.

No naders but was following some of the chasers when they where in Cisco and they were talking about a dercho(SP) hitting the DFW area around the 10pm time frame,

I know at one point there were 100+ mph winds probably just to the northwest of Ft. Worth but I they died down before the entered Ft. Worth and Dallas proper. A ton of rain though. There was flooding around the Victory Park area as well in Turtle Creek.

If you really want to know about the weather in your area follow the podcasters. They are usually 5-10 mins of the NWS and the local weather.

And another shameless plug for my team, we recently started something new for people here in MS. One of our guys is making a graphic called What We're Watching where he outlines areas of the state and what we think might happen over the next half hour to few hours. So far he's been pretty dead on on what he's done. We've got some big things in the works along with the expansion of our camera network that we think is going to make us a top destination for severe weather information.

How much is the cut in federal funding going to affect your ability? News station here in Florida has come out and said their ability to predict hurricanes has drastically been cut. The amount of flights that can be deployed which is how they get a lot of data for the hurricane paths have been reduced.

For the most part it's a lot of pearl clutching. Their ability to forecast hurricanes has not drastically been cut. They forecast tropical systems all the time when they're out over the open ocean using satellite data. I'm betting if flights have been cut, it's the ones that are on the outer edge of their range.

The Hurricane hunters are Air Force reserves so the Budget cuts don't affect them much. They provide what the satellites can't mainly Wind speed and Pressure.
