Virginia didn't make it. Selmon, you're on the clock!
Reel him in! Announce it tomorrow!
Don't give UVA a chance to entice him back. Don't give Texas A&M a chance to swipe him away from him. Lock him down, and make it official!

You are going to be disappointed.

I imagine BOC is real sad right now.

There are a few other names that I would be fine with, but O'Connor is arguably the top coach in all of college baseball, and we are the top fanbase in all of college baseball. It's a match made in Heaven.

I believe so.
Butch is still coaching and will probably make a Super Regional.

One of these days you people are going to figure out that the fan base of msu baseball is a double edged sword. It is one of the factors that makes this job a monster and not for just any coach out there. At least the guys running this search know that. As for that Selmon is going to hire who is told to on this one. At least he is smart enough to know that others can make the right choice for the program, much different than the last one. Could happen in ten days time or a little longer.

I can say that is highly unlikely.

No doubt smart leaders listen to good advice, and it seems he is getting good advice.

I believe what you're saying, but I'm a 57 year old State fan. I just know what "we" do.

I think it's pretty unlikely that O'Connor, Bakich, and Wasikowski all tell us no, and even if they do, I'm not sure that Thompson is #4 on the list or that he would have any reason to come here anyway. Those other 3 would be leaving conferences that aren't committed to baseball to come to the SEC. That's not a concern for Thompson.
The key factor here is that O'Connor can openly negotiate for the job as of today, while the others have to wait at least a week, probably longer, and focus on their own current jobs.

Highly unlikely that Butch will be the next head baseball coach at MSU. This is not the normal search situation.

The reality is if it's O'Connor we will know pretty quickly if I had to guess. Just don't see us getting last Florida State but we have certainly done so before.

Maybe #2 behind O'Sullivan, but I did say "arguably."

This is an even worse take..
I love it when average fans try telling our AD (who is doing a dang good job this far) what to do over a message board. Good entertainment man

It speaks volumes that you aren't telling me who you think is actually #1 over O'Connor and O'Sullivan by such a great margin that it isn't even arguable.

Rule 1
Never trust authority. Typically they screw up.
That is Selman in this case.
It?s up to us to hold them accountable via public pressure and damn sure don?t trust them.
Plus if we can?t talk about this stuff what are we gonna talk about on a sports message board?
