Tenn is not getting to host. I don’t see any way the SEC gets 8 host sites. People already gonna be bitching about 7

Their favorite football cheer back in the 1980’s was

“Nasty Bunch, Nasty Bunch, Nastyyyyyyyyy Bunch”

Former MSU asst Coach Jim Carmody was the Eagles def coord and came up with it for the Def. And former MSU player and Asst coach Bobby Collins was the HC.

So what's the story on Collins? I've always heard there was a push to hire him at one point, maybe before SMU possibly?

They don't have the pitching to win a Regional. They're one of those teams that actually sets up really well for a Super, but not for a Regional. Their pitching falls off a cliff after Saturday, and honestly it drops a considerable amount after Elliott.

Carl Maddox was the AD, Collin?s wanted the job but Maddox hired Emory The Memory. If Collin?s would have hired he would have been our ?Johnny Vaught?.

What could've been right there. Another one of those great what-if's in Mississippi State history. Collins probably never goes to SMU and we don't go Emory->Felker and suffer from 82-91. Then it becomes do we get Jackie in 91?

Carl Maddox was the AD at LSU for a long successful career. He retired in Greenville which I think was his home time. Bob Tyler who was promoted to AD while being our HC was a huge mistake. We asked Maddox to come out of retirement and he did a good job except not hiring Collin’s. Emory was at the time a home run hire, I was all in for Collin’s. I use to listen to his radio talk every Thursday morning at 7:20 am while driving to school when I was coaching. He was so impressive.

I copied and pasted this from an internet site:
The Nasty Bunch is the name of the football team's defense, and it is also the team's defensive cheer. It is used each time Southern Miss holds an opposing offense on third down or when the Nasty Bunch makes a significant defensive play, which is often.

Even Elliot is not that impressive. He throws good off-speed stuff, but he can't command his fastball. Even if he could, his fastball is a below average pitch.

They were really fun to watch in the 80's and their defense was pretty "nasty".
