I really am not trying to poop on the program, but this girl averaged less than a point and less than a rebound a game for Stony Brook. I don?t see how we can envision her doing much.

Apparently was injured after 5 games, but was pretty highly sought after in the portal.

Just looked at her commitment story. You are correct. Hopefully she can make a jump!

That seems to be the recruiting model we're embracing in every sport. Take a chance on players evaluated as high potential at some point in their past but haven't yet proven it.

Agreed, but you can't teach 6'6" and she had some pretty good schools after her in the portal so that says a little something. Its hard to tell how good she can be because she barely played due to her injury as a true Freshman. No one in the nation knew who Madina Okot was last year and Purcell pulled her out of thin air, now look at her. I'm not saying this happens with Wylder but being 6'6" is a good start.
We also have Rocio Jimenez who is another unknown 6'7" player, she has been injured as well so we don't know exactly what we have in her in the post either. Sam can still sign 4 more girls so I would expect another big or two to get added because we are good at the Guard and Wing spots.

Found this from an article on a Stony Brook site.....

Stony Brook women?s basketball seeks to keep contender status with new cast of characters

A rookie that could have an immediate impact is center Faith Wylder. With Clark leaving, Wylder could be utilized to replace the void left by Stony Brook?s five from a season ago, especially on the defensive end.
In the 2023-24 campaign, the Seawolves ranked first in the conference in rebounds per game (42.2) and fourth in blocks per contest (3.48). Clark herself tallied 7.0 rebounds and 1.1 blocks per game, which ranked eighth and ninth in the league, respectively.
The only center-by-trade on the roster, Wylder?s 6-foot-5 presence looms over Clark?s 6-foot-2 frame. Unless Stony Brook looks to play small ball, Wylder should crack the starting lineup.
?[Wylder] is a monster,? King said. ?She?s going to be very dominant. We just have to develop her into the player that she is and put her in the right spots to succeed.?
