Yep, it's called collusion and MLB owners did this in the free agent seasons of 85, 86, and 87. Several players signed for way less than market value and some remained unsigned until late-April/May. Owners were found guilty, had to pay restitution over a three year period and several players including Kirk Gibson and Jack Morris were awarded free agency. The owners were found guilty of this because it violated the labor agreement with the MLBPA.
However, there is no such system in place in this stupid, rouge shite that we are calling college athletics, so collude against these spoiled babies. That'd stop this horse crap, but you know there are Ole Miss' out there who'd break rank to sign these shitheads.

The machine at Buford was built by my high school coach and a former player who was 2 years ahead of me in high school. When the coach was at our school, my Senior year we had a damn good team returning with an All-American QB. Our boosters put together a fund to pay for apartments for transfer players to live in and coach recruited a team to make a run for a state title. We destroyed everyone in our region, but still couldn't compete with the old power programs like SW Dekalb and Valdosta. That was 1990. Recruiting in high school football in Georgia is as old as the game itself.

They police it more now but someone has to report it. Kids are driving an hour to school just to play football at a certain place. Gwinnett County's biggest import is high school athletes.
