Yep. Overall I'm pleased, but this a game that could've been over in the 7th... Frei got thrown out at second early on, cost us a run. Chance hits into a DP with the bases loaded to end an inning. Cheese gets Frei thrown out at home to end an inning.

Dumbass running decision and error filled inning adds 3 more outs to an arm. I'm assuming we're gonna try to stretch stone the rest of the game.

Bama trotting pitchers out like they grow them in a big incubator overnight.

Like the toughness by Hunter there. Takes the pitch before up and tight but stays in on the next pitch and shoots it to left center.

Hines has really made an improvement at the plate. Nice to have a veteran actually playing like one.
ETA: Except that dropped ball early in the game. Shoulda been caught.

Very satisfying win. Just hope we didn't dump our load offensively in the first game.

Had to have at least 1 this weekend. So even if we did, it accomplished the minimum goal to keep the season alive.

We're treading water right now. Not a big fan of firing him during the season anyway. We just need to let it play out.

I would fire Goat before Lemon. Lemon holds onto his assistants too long. If we could get some A+ assistants and let Lemon talk to dude’s dads about golf that would be best case scenario. The fact Goat and Cheese still have jobs means that’s not likely to happen. I’m not a huge fan of Lemon, but he’s not the worst coach in our dugout.

I don't get wanting to fire Gautreau. We're 6th in the SEC in batting average, 7th in slugging, and 8th in OBP. So, top middle of the conference and our offense is improved over last year. You can say "well, we should be higher" but then if that' the case we should fire Parker because our pitching also ranks 6th in the SEC.
So, firing Cheesbrough- I totally get that.
If anything I think MSU should hire an analyst that focuses on defense and an analyst that focuses on baserunning.

I’m sorry but I haven’t forgotten not making the SEC tournament for two years straight, I haven’t forgotten how unprepared we appear in the early part of season for years, I haven’t forgotten how many base running blunders, haven’t forgotten not getting players recruited for needs of positions. I could come up with a few more but these are the major ones. Just let the season play out then get them away from our program.
