17 Arnett. I don’t know why anyone would have a different opinion.

What lie did he tell Will? That he was still running the air raid? I don't think he knew what to do so I guess it is lying he had no clue.

That's because Keenum didn't hire an AD for like 8 months after cohen left. I blame Keenum 100% for our football problems right now

I want to see what Dan does at UNLV first. Can he navigate the Portal?

Huge question mark. I'm glad UNLV gets to test that out and not MSU.
It's interesting to me that his staff is completely different than it was at MSU. I think he has one former MSU coach on staff and that coach was actually under Moorhead. Knox and Gonzalez have settled in at MSU and he burned bridges with Hevesy and Sallach so maybe it's not that surprising.
The last thing MSU football needs right now is to FAFO.
Fair or not it looks like he made a bad choice in hiring Arnett at DC and I would say that he was about 50/50 on DC's during his time at MSU.

Why? We're a SEC school. If Lebby was fired for ordering Wendy's naked at 2 AM I'm 99% sure we could make a couple of phone calls and at least get Jon Sumrall from Tulane.
To me someone like him or Kinne at Texas State would be a much better option than Dan.

17 Arnett
I would take Arnett and Mullen right now. No offense to whoever our coach is right now.

Its Vegas. Being drunk and naked at a Wendy's is baby shit.
I'm just glad my New Orleans trips I'm famous for are pre-youtube

LOL, the only thing your famous for is your trips to the buffet line. You look like you could shut down a Golden Corral by yourself!
"We will have no problem in handling Kentucky."-Turfdawg67. MSU suffered a 27-17 defeat in 2022 with 225 yards in total offense.

Per Bo Bounds Brett Bielema, Manny Diaz, Barry Odom and Jon Sumrall were at our door on one knee with flowers while we were locked in on Lebby. If Lebby tanks the next two seasons I'd bet we get one from that list.

So after the Wendy's debacle we can officially refer to him as "Meat Head" as I wondered about him as a DC (Middle of the pack at MSU), and certainly at "HC".***** BTW, if he was so great at DC, after Will decided he was an option QB and fumbled at the !, how did OM manage to go 99 yards and score? If not for the batted down shovel pass we lose.

None of these guys had ties to OK and they were all successful, experienced HC's. We only hire "On the Job Training" AD's HC's & even DC's recently as per our losing history with these types except Tyler and Mullen.

Bielema had his shot in the SEC and I wasn't impressed (sub .500) and same thing goes for Odom (.500). Lebby imo has the higher ceiling of those two.
Manny Diaz is an absolute no. I think he's worse than Mullen when it comes to shopping himself around.
Sumrall, I have no opinion on at all.
I think if we ended or end up with anyone on that list we're just prolonging the suffering. We need to either bring back a proven commodity here like Mullen or find the cash somewhere to bring in one from elsewhere. Mullen for us was a needle in a haystack.

It seems some still refuse to admit the shape Arnett left the football program in. No head coach, whether it was Dan Mullen or Jon Sumrall, was going to win more than 2-3 games with what Jeff Lebby inherited.

Bc I'd take Dan over both of them. He's won here. Knows how to do it. And knows what the sec is like.
Kinne is a wild card.
I do think Sumrall will be good.

I agree. I'm too tired of the topic but too much of the blame is laid on Leach's shoulders. No one gave Leach a break when he inherited the dumpster fire Joe left and also had to play an all SEC schedule during COVID years all without a spring with the team. Arnett and his country club get a pass from some people and it doesn't make sense. FWIW I liked him as a DC but that's it.

Agree with that.

I agree, and just IMO, Arnett got a pass by using the "Blue Collar" "one of us" type stuff the administration was trying to feed the fans. Then telling everyone he has land, and has poultry. I swear our administration and media that tote the water for them really thought "our fans will eat that stuff up".
Oh, and he said "run the football" , and our fans referred to a gameplan from 35 years ago.
Leach won games, and was revamping the skill players but he did not say blue collar, and he was late to meetings.

UNLV is much better off with Paul Guenther as defensive coordinator. His scheme is much more complex than the idiot's scheme, so he may have to pare it down some for the college game, but his scheme is more fundamentally sound than Arnett's.
