For the "state"logo, each school has a state school. The interlocking logo is unique to us. I like both but if we're going to back something I think that it should be unique. Michigan state wore "state" stuff two years ago. Again I like the state logo and I pull for state schools as they are usually blue collar but to make our branding "state", I feel is the wrong move. Again if you're trying to separate, back something people like and is unique.

I think with MSU marketing sometimes they lose sight of WHO they are marketing to. The reality is most of the people that buy MSU things are MSU fans and alumni but the University ever since 2003 or 2004 seems absolutely hell bent on marketing nationally even if it means putting out logos that their primary consumers- MSU fans- don't like.

I think that MSU has somehow lost sight of the fact that this is "OUR" football team. And what the majority of fans want is the team to wear the 1998 uniforms with MSU on them. If they do STATE instead of MISS. STATE on the front of the jersey it needs to be in the same traditional font that the 1998 jerseys have and not the random STATE I have seen proposed.

The baseball teams has gotten this. They have never gone away from M over S even with some hideous uniforms in the 2000's and it was the absolute correct decision to not do away with it.

I think LSU has a good template for how to wear football uniforms.

For SEC home games they typically wear their most popular uniforms- white jerseys and gold pants. And yes, there are some exceptions but for the most part this is what they do. If we were to follow LSU's template our "best version" would be the 1998 uniforms.

For Non-SEC home games they typically wear purple jerseys and gold pants or this is when they bring out their alternate crazy uniforms usually. Again, yes with some exception but again in general this is what they do. For MSU if we were following their template- this is when we should wear script State helmets or alternate/black/throwback/crazy whatever uniforms.

LSU in general I think pretty much wears their white jerseys on the road and I think we could deviate a little bit here as we could have a game where we wear our "storm trooper" all white uniforms for one big game or make the all whites the primary road uniforms.

I would say yes but even beyond that. We need to get some allies on the streets as well. There are too many "advisors" in Mississippi telling kids to go out of state and it hurts us.

That's because there are an enormous amount of Alabama and LSU sidewalk fans living in Mississippi who never set foot on those campuses except maybe to attend a football game. Whereas it is highly unlikely there's very many State fans living in either of those states who didn't attend school or have children attend school at State. It's just different in that way. Not only is our State very divided by State and Ole Miss fans, we have to deal with fighting off those teams sidewalk fans from encouraging our better players to leave our State.

Probably in the Vaught/Bryant days, the loyalty was Mississippi vs. Alabama. But then State people decided to take football serious and stop being a doormat. Since then the biggest difference in our record vs our arch-rival is the Vaught 17-1-1 record against State. We will always lose the very very best to the top SEC teams. But we have been able to get that next tier to at least make us "competitive" with the middle to lower half of the conference. Until NIL and Free Agency took over.

I think that applies more to fans than handlers/agents though. Handlers/agents first allegiance is to money more than Bama or LSU.

And with Ole Miss so focused on the portal every year we have a chance to really take advantage in state if we do it right.
