Yes we are. If we can close on a few more DT to eat up run gaps, one more DB starter, and a legit tackle we are in great shape next year to win 6

Edit: I?ll add WR to that list too. If we kept Coleman I?d be pretty happy with that group.

Whitsen and Finkley we feel really confident on. I thought it might be one of them. We are pretty confident on Moten and Fluff but you just never know with RBs. He definitely has a better chance to start here though.

Huh? Maybe at edge. We need 2 more DT that can play. Running backup level dudes as your starters again next year is a death sentence

I?m still watching to see if Denver Harris jumps into the portal. If he does, I think we can get him.

Harrell is an example of someone not wanting to wait their turn and then ending up worse off than if they had waited their turn.

Don't we need a nose tackle to plug the A gap in our 3-4?

I hope we move to a 3-4 or even a 4-3 if we have quick, fast, and in a hurry edge guys!

I said it in another thread, but you aren't going to see any team run a straight 3-4 or 4-3 more than 20-25% of the time. Everyone runs some form of a nickel defense as their base defense. It's a lot harder to defend spread formations from a 4-3 or a 3-4.

Fact. Saban, Kirby, everyone is running more of a nickel as the majority defense.

Saban tree coaches run a lot of dime as well.

Few years away for sure but I think this changes back. You see this in the NFL now there are no more 40 TD 4500 yard passers like there was for a good stretch the past decade. Offensives are adapting back to RBs being important since defenses went small with an extra DB. We will see another Ashton Jeanty season soon

I wouldn't say revamping, I'd call it roster building. Obviously LB is revamped but not a lot of difference makers other than our safety spot. But that roster had to be built up and this is pretty much year one for Lebby. Need to finish strong before I can say we've really revamped but the roster is better.

Possible. Only thing that could stop more of that is the harsh rules in pass coverage , so it incentivizes teams to throw more. Plus the game is boring when its 10-7 with 15 passes.

Eh, I doubt it. I think what you will see is these offensive minded coaches figure out a way to throw the ball efficiently against two high. I think this "renewed" importance of the RB is just a blip on the radar.
