Right but still. Seems he wanted guaranteed playing time then quickly walked that back. But yeah maybe they just gave him 1.5M to be a backup

I am surprised he choose a back-up position with no shot to start unless the starter gets hurt. He had a starter opportunity here but tried to force more than he is at this point with us to go to a team with less of a chance.

And LSU just signed a 5 star QB to start in 2026. Brilliant decisions these kids make.

They are throwing out cash but I will be shocked if he got half of his as asking price.

Well we could have done that. We chose not to. And honestly who could blame him. We are 2-10. You want me to start for you for half a season and get tore up with a bad offensive line? I'm gonna need some guarantees.
I think we should have ponied up. Because right now we've bet on ourselves as an 2-10 team and we are currently losing that bet.

We had a solid freshman qb here a couple weeks ago, and then we thought we had another solid qb coming in. Today, we have neither... our position in the sec is being shown to us once again.

Nobody gets to demand a starting spot coming off a 2-10 season. Nobody.

I mean really thinking about it, Dak started every game for two years snd, outside of Troy 2015, stayed in for the whole game in almost all of them. Nick never really got to hone his skills too much. I still think Nick in 2018 would have been like Dak in 2014 had Dan stayed that year. We would have opened up the passing game a bit more with substantially more talent than we had previously had in the receiver room.
He is a big guy that played WR and defense in high school before becoming a QB and based on what I saw on film he isn't very accurate.

Yeah it?s just different these days. Get your guaranteed 1.5M to be in college one more year vs getting drafted in the 5th to be a backup

I'm fine with him walking. We can do better. Kromenhoek is probably as good if not better right now.

They may want MVB to be the running QB for them.

At worst, it’s a wash for us.

And you can bet he will get much more money than we will have.
