Well yea.....I mean if your QBs were Peyton Thorne, Hank Brown, and Walker White you'd be offering every portal QB with a pulse. Funny story, they went hard after Shapen last year and thought they had him late. He almost committed to Hugh when he was at OM and they thought they had him the second time around.

May have been reported already, but Joseph Williams (Tulsa WR) is visiting this week.

Interesting. I saw it reported somewhere else that he hadn't had any contact with us.

Chad and Jeff are keeping our WR targets under wraps. They don't really want Steve or Paul reporting who we're after. They drove up the price on a few last year and priced us out.

I tried to post this earlier but not sure if my service wouldn?t let it go through. I apologize if it did and I?m double posting. Is MVB waiting on an official commitment to enter the portal? I can?t find anything showing him in, but we have him in on the thread.

FWIW, Jahron Manning is PFF's 15th highest graded safety this year. He had an 86.8 defensive grade.

Clev Lubin from Coastal Carolina is PFF's 18th highest graded edge player. he had an 86.1 defensive grade.

Chris Murray from Sam Houston State is PFF's 52nd highest graded edge player with a 78.8 defensive grade.

Nyjalik Kelly from UCF is 58th among edges. His grade is 78.4.

Travion Barnes is 40th among linebackers with a 78.8 grade.

I took him off the list. I think he's waiting for the official report before he does. I also think he's realizing he doesn't have as many suiters as he originally thought he did.

I would expect REAL GOOD news regarding Manning within the next 12-18 hours.

I know it?s a basketball school, but insane that Duke won?t just pay whatever insane amount of money it takes to keep their star QB. That alumni base is swimming in it.

Open the damn check book and get it done. We could flip the defense in a week. Crazy times

I think his best bet is to return, probably redshirt a year behind Arnold and Shapen, and then either make a move in 2026 or compete for the job. He decommitted from Oregon to play for Jeff Lebby for a reason.

I'm noticing that the portal is kind of thin when it comes to interior defensive linemen this year, which is bad for us because we need it. I think it is very obvious that the coaching staff has prioritized pass rushers though.

The problem, for him at least, is that if he returns then he knows we are going to low ball him because we can. If I were him and there was no doubt in my mind Jackson Arnold was coming, I would go to somewhere like Duke and put some good stuff on the film at the ACC level and then try to come back to the SEC, a la Maalik Murphy.

Here is the other thing, Van Buren cannot beat out Shapen.

And not every alumnus will pay for players just to say Ha-ha "WE" beat you.

Well the problem is that there is a bunch of them who think they are going to get Dylan Stewart money when they are actually going to get about 1/3 of that.

What argument are you trying to make here? That MSU is all in on NIL but Duke alumnus wont play the game? There is a very vocal group of state fans just on here who have white knighted themselves into being morally superior and never supporting NIL. Doesnt change the fact the Duke fan base that is willing to donate will have more money than the MSU fan base that is willing to donate.
