Let's keep our QB healthy and actually look good on offense.
No one is going to transfer if we look bad with a 3rd string quarterback. Run the offense. And stop giving it on the zone read 95 % of the time when there is 50 yards of green grass in front of you if you keep it. Players aren't that stupid. They know the offense works. There is a difference in sliding strategically and playing scared, which is what we are currently forcing our qb to do.

He will, but he won't be ready by Spring. My guess is that we'll help him get the medical RS and evaluate where we are at the QB position in the offseason. If we've brought in competition for MVB, which I expect us to do, I imagine Shapen will transfer and play elsewhere in 25. If not, I would expect he'll ramp up and be ready to go in the summer and compete for the job, and probably win it, in fall camp.

He doesn't need to be an idiot and play like Corral, but he needs to run the offense and stop acting like it matters to this team or season if he happens to get hurt doing so.
You can't be ****ing serious?

This isn't 2019. They can, and will, transfer if the offense looks bad. Hell, we gotta worry about 2-3 of them transferring if the offense looks good. I mean what if MVB gets hurt like Shapen and is out til September or October of 25? Then what do we do? No QB will want to come here with us just constantly running our QBs into getting injured. We would be left with probably just Jake Weir for Spring Practice because Parson is transferring.

Yea, no they aren't. I'm also not advocating (as I have said) to play like it's the 4th quarter of the super bowl and get yourself killed, but they are going overboard in a season where we are going 2-10 or 3-9 no matter what. It's ridiculous.

We've got ONE QB right now. You keep him upright and healthy. Dear God, our fans suck.
Give me your Venmo so I can send you a dollar to buy a clue.

Yea......they are. We have already had to renegotiate 3 NIL deals in season to keep players from sitting out, not just on offense. You still have to play smart. A little history lesson, I mean you bring up Corral, go watch the 2020 Ole Miss offense. He was constantly sliding because they didn't want him taking hits. Same thing with the 2022 OM offense with Dart. You keep young players from taking too many hits because their body is not ready to take that kind of punishment. Let him build strength and then he can start absorbing more hits. You literally just said it doesn't matter so what's the difference between 3 yards and sliding and 5 yards and a MLB taking a shot at him.

You can't make people see what they don't want to. They want us to run our QBs into the ground like Dan did. They fail to realize that all of Dan's QB were basically TE's that could throw, or in Fitz's case, a WR who could throw. They were big bodied guys, or could flat out run people in Nick's case. MVB, nor any other QB currently on our roster, is that type of guy. No QB that Lebby recruits is going to be that type of build. That's what makes Kamario Taylor so unique. Lebby has never had a QB like that. Big body with a huge arm.

We are 1-6 and about to go 2-10 with or without him, you Neanderthal. We need to run the offense like it’s supposed to be run. You are too stupid to have a conversation with.

For the third time, since you obviously didn’t read the first 2 times I posted it. I’m not advocating for him playing reckless. I’m advocating us to run the actual offense. There are times to slide and times to run the offense. Handing it off on the read every single time is stupid AF. Sliding 10 seconds before anyone is about to hit you is stupid.

But sliding is the offense and handing it off on those RPOs is the offense........always has been. This isn't Dan's power spread. We're not running read option. We're running RPOs. They deviated from it in 21 at OM because they had no one else to run the ball. Ealy was banged up, Parrish was banged up, and I'm pretty sure the 3rd string was too. He'll get better with time learning when to slide, but hell the kid is damn Freshman making his 3rd start. He's 18 years old.

He’s 20 years old, actually. And no one wants him to never slide. No
One wants him to run himself into the ground. Just run the offense. He’s currently not, no matter what you say. He’s playing really well to be this handicapped.

Maybe you misunderstood the OP. I'm not saying he needs to be sliding where he's sliding. He slid too short mutliple times on Saturday. The point I was making was that the folks behind me were wanting him to run head first into the MLB and act like he was GD Chris Relf at 6'4 240. He's 6'1 like 195.
I do agree that he is playing well to be as handicapped as he is by a god awful offensive line.

And MVB goes down and NO ONE RUNS THE OFFENSE.
You take the one bright spot on this team and kill it. No one shows up for a total shit show.
You definitely have the rational thinking of a neanderthal.

I definitely don't want him running like Relf or Fitz. I just want the other team to actually have to account for him on the zone read and for him to pick up the first down instead of sliding when no one is around. That's it. We are on the same page.

Yea we definitely don't want our quarterback to get hurt and for us to have a bad season because of it. The adults are talking. Go to bed.

That's funny coming from the kids' table.
And yes, I see you rephrased the argument.

It absolutely matters.
Every rep he gets matters.
And it matters for recruiting. There is a reason CC made the statements he did this weekend.

3rd and 23- you rush 4 and play man underneath with 2 high or stem you 2 DT's late into 3 techs and bring both inside LB's like Georgia was doing to Texas to make them throw quick before they wanted to. That soft drop 8 crap is for teams like the Airbone
Walk like the King or walk like you don't care who the King is
