Who was our TE that left for TCU and came back?

Spivey, but NCAA screwed him on his eligibility

Spivey with us.

They got him on some technicality about signing up for classes with TCU before he left.

Spivey was screwed, but he wasn't a "normal" double transfer.

The only way I see Shapen leaving is if Van Buren Wally Pipps him.
I don't really mind not redshirting Van Buren. I think Kamario Taylor has a much higher ceiling and could push him out at some point.
Parson I'm guessing will just transfer out.

I would be shocked if Parson doesn?t transfer.

MVB will start for the rest of this year. If Shapen comes back, he will start in 25. But if not we will go the transfer route. I know the staff was already in contact with Preston Stone at SMU. Of course that was prior to yesterday. It is all setting up for MVB and Kamario Taylor to battle it out for the starting job in 26. MVB has more QB tools than Taylor RIGHT NOW, but Taylor is a better athlete and is built better. Be interesting to see where both are to start the 26 spring.

Maybe I've missed it but what's the deal with MVB stepping in for Shapen and not Parson. Are there other issues behind the scenes we don't know about.

Have we really seen enough of him to know. But maybe the coaches see it. That's another disappointing miseval if so.

From what I have been told since Lebby got here, they have worked with Parson, yes he still does not have an S on his name folks, and he just cannot grasp the decision making part of this offense. He knows where to go with the ball but it is late. Watch him in warmups and you will see it. He is a half second to full second slower than the other QBs when he is carrying out the fakes. I do not think he is a missed eval. He would have been great for the Leach system, but this is not that system.

Granted the spring practice window is small. However, they apparently rolled the dice they could work with him and it didn't pan out. Will give them a pass as Lebby and gang did not have a lot of time before the April portal window.

Well you want to give the kid a chance to see if he can grasp it over the summer and in fall camp. But at this point it is time to probably mutually part ways.

I personally think Shapen should just give up football. He was constantly out injured at Baylor and now the same thing here. I'm not even sure I saw any hard contact that should have ended up in a severe shoulder injury yesterday. Shapen will never last an SEC season if he did come back.

Honestly, getting MVB the experience is probably a good thing. The dude followed Lebby here. He will likely be the most experienced QB on the roster unless Shapen comes back. Let him roll.

If his decision making is slow he likely wouldn't have done well in Leach's system either.
Lebby's isn't much more complicated.
Hard to evaluate the speed/processing component with QB's in high school and camps.
