    Did we interview Jason Candle?

Or was that just a rumor?

10 years loyal to a program. Had 7 sixth year seniors on D. Sounds like he has the formula for somewhere like State.

I'll be patient with Lebby but just curious

Someone fill us in, but I remember he had turned down some job offers.
Those midwestern guys stick to their area and wait on the right job.

Earlier this week in a thread I had posted that we better give Candle some respect in this game.
That guy just flat out coached us and had a better team culture and discipline.

100% should have hired him over Lebby.

If any sitting head coach like Jason Candle or Curt Cignetti truly interviewed for our job, showed serious interest and were not offered then the entire athletics department needs to canned along with Keenum.

Shit, Barry Odom is 3-0 at UNLV and he was begging for the damn job.

This is a major rebuild given to a first time head coach. I'm not sure Lebby can do it but I'm willing to give three or four years. We need some kind of stability in the program.

I’ve been trying to hint at this. I know that Selmon has removed some of the dead weight in the athletic program but there is still A LOT. Combine that with the SAME boosters that hired Moorhead, Leach, Arnett, and now Lebby. I know people don’t want to hear this but until that changes State will remain where it is. Combine this with a state government that really does want one major SEC program in the state and the fact that the majority of people on the hill are UM fans…this is what we get. Source: I’ve worked in State government for 25 years…

Athletic program is basically toast. We had a chance with Mullen and squandered it. It’s pretty much over. Realignment will happen in the next 3 years and State will be left out. It’s all over but the crying.

Nah I was told Barry Odom was a retread and we could NEVER lower ourselves to hire someone like him or someone like Tom Herman.

And we have a first time AD, making the decision, who seemingly went with familiarity.

I swear some of you want this to happen.

Neither the SEC nor Big Ten is going anywhere, they will not merge or dissolve to form another league. You folks don't understand what wielding power means. There's absolutely no reason for the SEC/Big 10 to do anything, they already run CFB, the 2024 champion will come from one of those two leagues, like most of the last 20 years or so. The few top tier teams in the ACC/Big 12 and ND will be included in the next iteration of CFB, but the mid/lower tier teams need to be concerned. When it all settles out there're likely be 50-60 teams left, all the current SEC/Big 10 are safe.
