Interesting that DJ's absence didn't really hurt our defense.
I just need a little more Murphy and a little less Jones.
-
Maybe Davis should be getting shark's mins.
-
We got a win. Let’s go beat Mizzou

No. Shak is significantly ahead of Davis from an analytics standpoint. But he played well tonight. Just need to continue with the 3 guard rotation.

This is the first game under Jans we played with dj. I think dj is a pretty valuable player, so probably a little underrated win.

Jans has to think upside/ceiling. I the upside is greater with Key playing more minutes.

I like DJ but the analytics don't. Lowest rated player on the team.

Good win. Now got to go on the road and take what we have to have
Walk like the King or walk like you don't care who the King is

Maybe so, but I don't know much about basketball analytics. Seems the only way they could keep up with em is my box scores, and I don't think DJ's value is on that

Yep, if we can't win a road game against Missouri we might as well give up even trying.

Solid effort, good win. Now go get these wins we need to get over the next 8.

Mizzou is 0-5 at home. That scares me to death haha

Yes, getting him back helped alot and he played some at the 3 tonight. 10 points 4 rebounds, I'll take that. He's not the defender Jeffries is but he has more skill offensively.
Jaquan Scott is on the bench too for a little more depth in case we need it being down 3 guys but yes, getting Murphy back was big

There's no maybe about it. It's a fact. And yes, analytics are based on numbers, lol.
Now if DJ's minutes are all going to Jones, give me DJ back. But if Jans will continue to play Murphy at the 3, we have a higher ceiling.

You nailed it. Perfect 8 man rotation.

Very good post and I agree...if he can stay healthy and play consistently he has a chance to put up some good numbers and turn some heads.. he is skilled, 6'10 long, can dribble, shoot and drive...glad we got him back especially offensively. If I'm Jans I'm starting him at the 3 and allowing him to play through some mistakes early in games, he needs the reps

I just don't get how you gauge individual players. You can compare a team's offense vs their opponents and their defense vs their opponents for metrics like kempom. Anybody can determine a player's offensive value by a box score, but how do you determine a player's defense without watching the games?
