Bama will see a drop off going forward, regardless if Saban stayed or the next guy. They already have, as they just went without a title for 3 straight years for the first time since Saban got there.
No programs spend as much as Bama on Football. None. Bama spent $78.5m on football alone in '22. Washington spent the next highest at $70.4m, then Ohio St at $69m and UGA at $61.7m.

Meanwhile, our $29 million is 12th lowest in P5
"After dealing with Ole Miss for over a year," he said, "I've learned to expect their leadership to do and say things that the leadership at other Division I schools would never consider doing and to justify their actions by reminding themselves that "We're Ole Miss.""

Wait. We have a $130M Athletics budget and we only spent $29M on Football? No wonder we suck at it. It cost $10M a season just to get team, equipment and support staff to the 4 to 5 road games.

No. In '22 we had a $110m athletics budget and $29m was spent on football. I think the $130m estimate is what we will have when the new TV contract kicks in next year.

It still comes down to players and for the first time, Bama will actually be at a disadvantage when it comes to paying players. When payments were under the table, what mattered was having crazy committed boosters with money. Now that NIL is here, schools like Texas and UGA, which have a much broader swath of alumni that are well off and/or rich and willing to contribute to NIL when they weren't willing to make under the table payments will have an advantage over Bama.

The Bammers have two families that if committed can outspend virtually anyone.

I meant NIL money. Bama doesn't have state of Texas money.

Yes they do.

No. They don't. The Texas schools have more potential access to money than anybody in the country, both as a program (the two largest budgets) and NIL. Way more wealth in Texas.

I did. Tried to respond but not sure it went through. I get that. But Texas has multiple companies in the same industry much bigger.

I was shocked to see OM in the top 10. It's a shame they double our spending on football.

I replied, let just say there is a lot that you aren't aware of and people that want things that way.

It is. Most lawyers done make any more than engineers and many docs don?t. For every specialist doc you have a ton of general practitioners making $200.

One of them I know for a fact was at one time a very very large donee for the athletic department. He was providing funding enough to pay for a none major sport by himself.

And I bet his last name isn't Scruggs and has an office around Ingalls.

There are a lot of doctors and lawyers who are Mississippi State fans and donors. I just don't think our university works these guys and gals like Ole Miss does.
