The ripple affect of this new hire unless the new coach brings his whole staff (Scott Frost to Nebraska) is going to be huge!
"False start everybody but the center" referee summarizing Arnett's season performance as a head coach.

Bear did it in an era where he had more competitive advantages than Saban. Saban had the same 85 scholarship limits, Saban has rich boosters at other schools that were also trying to buy players, Saban had other schools spending tens of millions on their football staff.
It's just a lot harder to win today than it was back then. It's like FBS vs FCS, the competition is more serious and unforgiving
Moreover, Saban has a higher win %, more national titles, and has Nattys at 2 schools. By no metric other than "total wins" is Bear the better coach

He is having more success at om than any other coach in the last 20 years has had...without cheating.

Ummm... how do you know that. Because no sanctions? I think UGA may have been on probation once, ever. They've never cheated?

Bear also should've won a Natty at KY if they had voted the polls after the bowls. He can take his'n and beat your'n and your'n and beat his'n. Saban can't do that and NO TEAM has had more advantages than Saban the last decade +.
And I now realize the REAL reason Saban is retiring. Freeze almost beat him with this sorry AU team. Saban don't wanna face Freeze when he gets AU talent. Don't wanna recruit against him either. Saban skeered of ole Freezus. LOL

Bear "lived life to the fullest"... let's be honest. If he'd been "all in" and lived to be the greatest, he could've set all the records. Granted, he had a much better hand dealt to him, obviously.

Don't those boosters remember Kiffen costing them a Natty? Wasn't he the one that decided to start throwing against Ohio State in the semifinal when they could have simply run their way to a victory?

Sylvester Croom is now forever etched in history as the only Mississippi State coach to beat Nick Saban.

Not Kiffen - too immature and they want someone who lives football
Not Swinny - lost his fastball and too slow to adapt to NIL/Portal
Demeco and Sark wouldn't come
The knock of Deboar is he has no experience in the SEC
Lanning and Norvell are the top two candidates.

I wasn't saying blue blood. Sorry for misinterpretation. But he was gone Gone

It would be glorious though.
They are gonna have to miss in their first couple to get to him. But I'm sure he's on a top ten list. W 3/4 of them no chance of taking it. Sark etc

Kiffin is the sole reason Bama lost to ole miss in 2014. Bama was rushing for 5-7 yards per carry right before the half. So they came out and committed to the forward pass in the 2nd half. It's was mind boggling.

It's gonna definitely interesting to see this play out. I think kiffin down the list too but theres some folks over there that love him. He wouldn't be my first choice for sure. He's basically Dan mullen. Has trouble winning the big ones.
