We lost at Georgia last year and we still made the tourney. Georgia was 16-16 (6-12)... SC's net was 46th today

Yeah, and last year we had two Q1 non conference wins. Not happening this year. This was a lost chance at a Q1 win that's going to be easier than any of those four I mentioned, therefore we need to win 2 of those 4 games to make up for this loss. This loss hurts bad.

And if I'm not mistaken, 0 Q2 OOC wins... we currently have 4 this season with wsu a chance to become Q1 at #60.
ETA... Arizona st is #105, so that could become another Q2 win

Well....might as well forfeit the rest of the season. We lose the first game of the SEC season so it's all over. ***************

Ok, you win. This is a great loss. Nothing to see here. Move along.

Me saying it isn't a season-ending loss somehow equals great loss.

I'm not saying it's season ending, but now there is zero room for error. We pretty much have to win 2 of the next four. This year with zero Q1 wins OOC and the loss to Southern we can't go 8-10 in the SEC and lose to a Georgia. This loss has caused us to pretty much have to win all the games we are "supposed" to, and probably another two we "shouldn't". Now, if we finish 13-5 in the SEC, yeah this loss will be no big deal. Yeah, that ain't happening. This loss, even though the first conference game, was huge unless we win a few we shouldn't.

I’m really surprised at how bad Arkansas is doing this year. They were picked in the top 15 preseason. The four worst teams in the conference are probably Vandy, LSU, Mizzou and Ark. Of course with our luck we only play each of them once.

I don't think we've painted ourself into a corner over losing a Q1 road game. There are 8 sec teams in the top 50 in NET, and us and SC are in that group.

This wasn?t a bad loss, it was a missed opportunity. Our guards didn?t rebound and we unfortunately got called for more fouls than we usually do. It would be huge to go 2-0 this week and defend home court. Thats the big key is stealing a few on the road and win your home games.

Probably worth noting that this was the first real game we've played as a team with tolu this season. Hopefully we can split these next 2 to get a Q1 win

Our guards had more rebounds than our forwards. The big diff was the FTs and they made 8 3s and we didn't. Oh and getting out rebounded by 10 made a difference also

The rebounding difference makes this game seem very flukish to me. We certainly get beat on the 3- and ft-lines, but we always rebound. And to be honest, a lot of those rebounds were like they were magnetically charged to go straight to SC players.
Oh well, I think we get one of these next 2 homes games, and we will be fine.

It's not the end of the season we have plenty of opportunities to make up wins. That being said it is going to be hard, the SEC is tough.
It's so frustrating hoping and thinking we will have a solid team every year and never do.. we struggle in some way every single year with the Men's and Women's teams.. our glory days of Vic Shaeffer with the girls are long gone and Jans is going to need to recruit better and sharpen our offense if we want to take that next step with the Mens team. In my opinion we still lack that offensive go to perimeter guy like a Q. Weatherspoon type.
