Leach had very little to do with the defense. I can't imagine he was ordering Arnett to take so and so CB, for example. So who was in charge of defensive evaluations? Who was in charge of convincing recruits to play defense for us? There's just no way to exempt Arnett from any responsibility in recruiting bad defensive players for 3 seasons and/or failing to develop them to where it looks like they're bad.
Ok but Leach should've emphasized IMO that defense starts on the Dline. Zach needs to understand MS produces stud Dlinemen and we need to pay whatever it takes to get the top ones.
