Buddy is a coach there. Says he has the legit size listed (6?5 315) and is athletic. Got some nasty to him too. Will need a lot of work on feet and technique. Good redshirt guy for us

Some food for thought on rankings.

Recruiting services have gotten noticeably worse and lazier on assigning stars to kids. They're more reactionary than proactive these days. If bama signs a 3 star, they signed a 4 star. If an sec school signs an unranked kid, they signed a 3 star.

It's worse than ever in "expert" prediction. So do your own due diligence if you want. Otherwise stars are largely meaningless.

Xavier Gayten commits on 6/7 as unranked.

Xavier Gayten is listed as 3* on 6/10.

As if recruiting stars needed less meaning.

I trust in this staff to find guys who embody the Mississippi State toughness while showing enough talent to compete in the SEC. As long as we have a full class, I don't care how many stupid stars rankings we get.

Sure he is a good player and hate that we lost him (assuming he does indeed sign with Ole Miss) but if he was a true difference maker and from Tuscaloosa wouldn't Saban have offered?

Apparently committed to our staff two weeks ago, secretly visited OM yesterday, and flipped today.

Doubt a kid with that kind of character does much in life. History shows that kids who love recruiting games rarely amount to much. Not gonna freak out too much with this one.
