Stats that stick out
Made all xp
Lot of wr involved, 6 with catches over 15 yds, 5 with 20 plus,
2 over 30
Only one wr had more than 2 drops, few were perfect target/ catches- we're probably averaging 1 drop per player a game. First game so hopefully that improves.
Rogers had 5 td with 1 sac and 1 int.
Longest run 10 yards.
Johnson 67 total w 4.8 avg, marks 36 but 2 td and average 3

Not stats but something that stuck out was Jeff Johnson putting some vicious hits on guys. He made his own stats.

Here's a stat from Dave Murray.
Take out Will's sack and we had over a 100 yards rushing.

Sacks should come out of passing stats

11 total 5 solo tackles. Most on the team

George Georgopoulos needs to get the punts off quicker he is like a slow footed mule in mud. He will get some punts blocked against better teams they need to address that now....lucky in the Memhis game he didn't. His one punt went 37 yards i can do that.

Yeah I never understand why cfb refuses to change this stat. NFL it sacks count against passing yards. Ridiculous to count a sack against rushing stats. When I look at rushing stats I just take out the sacks.

Son and I went to 2nd scrimmage. Punters looked terrible in drills. Georgopoulos, ( UMass ? transfer) looked really bad on his rugby style punts with a couple short and out of bounds. Trafford got one off at the end that was long with good hang time and crowd actually gave a "Bronx Cheer" at finally seeing a good punt. As noted, last night we were really slow getting off punts which will not bode well in the future.

It could be worse. Our next opponent blocked THEIR OWN PUNT. Resulted in a SDST td.

One positive..... State has improved the speed at the skill positions. We just flat out ran Memphis on a few offensive plays. We closed down some lanes with speed on defense. The freshman RB, Price is especially fast.
Oh yeah.... another... State played more physical this year v Memphis than last year.

Kind of reminded me of Clemson picking on Josh Morgan until Morgan knocked out two of their wide receivers.

Yes our team speed is much better than it's been in a long time and physicality was excellent too.

Yea I saw that too with Price, he can accelerate and everybody else looks like they are standing still. He looks like he’s going to be a beast. I think given the touches he will take several of those little dump offs/swing passes to the house.
I didn’t get to see Reese much but you don’t see many 6-7 315 pound guys with low body fat. That’s a big dude. By the time he’s a senior he should be a monster.
Harmon looks like he’s going to be a good one as well, nfl size at w r.
