True. And, losing Sims was huge. But, he was only going to be a factor 1 game per week whereas our lack of clutch hitting is on display multiple times per week. That's why for the best way to maximize our chances for a series win, he should have moved to Saturdays with Smith on Sundays. Use Stinnett along with our other throwers and walkers against everyone's Friday ace who we are probably not going to touch anyway.

This is the issue. Not that we are not going to host anymore or go to Omaha it is that we are the worst team in the SEC. After a NC, this should not happen to anyone with what we had returning.

Imagine Bama not even making a bowl after a NC?

And don't say we ain't Bama in baseball. We just finished a run that no NCAA baseball team has ever done in history - 3 straight CWS, 5 straight supers.

So no clue why we dont just roll with Davis, who is probably the best glove of the 3.
I understood Davis perfectly well. I tried to warn everyone here. I have an "in" with UAB baseball and I was told we had a Willie Mays Hayes on our hands (runs like Mays, hits like shit) and that has held true. Worst part is, his defense hasn't been stellar either. Davis has been a wet fart.

He's better than what we've been putting on the field. And the offense for whatever reason seems to click better with him in the lineup. Probably because he's a less stinky fart than McGowan or Skinner.

Our use of McGowan might be the most puzzling Lemonis decision of his tenure. Not really in a good or bad way. But the kid starts the first 6-8 games last year and then we don?t see him for over a year and he randomly shows up starting a couple of weeks ago. Does anyone know if he has been injured or something of that nature?

Per Lemonis in an interview yesterday Davis is not injured. He's just trying to find the best matchups.

His words not mine before I get attacked on here. LOL.

I wish Jess had changed his name to Jeff and signed with the Confederates. They'd of made him honorary team Captain day 1.

If baseball recruiting begins at14 years of age we are just now feeling the affects of all these coaching changes. You can’t tell me Henderson was recruiting that age group well so we seem to be playing catch up in that regard.

Well, last year's class had better guys than this one- Cade Smith, Fristoe, Tepper, Clark, and Foresythe >>>> Hunt, Hines, and... Slate Alford? Yeah, Alford is the 3rd biggest contributor of the Fr class.

So, who is responsible for each of these Fr class? Are the current Sophomores Canns guys, or Henderson's?

This makes no sense. It moves everyone up a slot of course it changes things. And sure sims couldn't win on Friday... right

Meanwhile Gary Henderson's 1st year as HC for the YUTES is going well for a program that's had 1 winning season in 10 years. Last year they went 13-33 and so far they are 18-13-1 and 5-7 in the Pac-10. They lost 1 & 2 run games then bounced back today against UCLA.

Aaron Downs has been hurt. He will be a good player. I think Bryce Chance will be good too- sort of like Cody Brown. Pico has been good and Walker and Cheatham have had their moments good and bad.

He was not the answer. I appreciate what he did for us but no.

So you're saying we'd be 4-0 on Fridays while averaging 2.5 runs per game? LOL. Ok.

We probably win Friday with Sims. And Preston would still be in the bullpen which makes that group better. Losing pitchers to injury has a lot of effects.

I agree the impact on losing Sims had a domino affect but last I remember Sims was 0-2 as a starter. Having Sims don't fix everything, it certainly helps.

Getting down early in games affects your mindset at the plate. Affects your morale. We would probably be 2-2 on Fridays with Sims- but could have gotten to 3-1 with a win over UPig with Sims shutting them down. We were overmatched vs Georgia on that Friday and would have lost regardless.

No, what i'm saying is he's the best we have and would give us a shot and it pushes PJ to sat and saves arms. The fact I need to explain this to you to understand is amazing.
