7, you are the main skeptic on this board. How the hell do you have ANY confidence in Howland to do anything with this team? He is awful

We have some good athletes, but Howland just can’t get a team to gel. It is the same every year.

Just a little too late to the party with the requisite energy/effort. Disappointing.

2 guard spot went 5-15, 3-11 from 3. Howland needed to find another shooter to go with Molinar.

Awful, lol
We've made 3 straight postseasons and it woulda been 4 if covid didn't cancel one. I would have a lot less patience if we actually supported our program. I can't see being able to get any coach worth a crap taking over for a fired howland. The only reason this program isn't a total disaster is howland's ability to get players here. Im amazed he gets players to play for us in a study hall home atmosphere

There's no excuse for losing that game. If we lose next Saturday it would probably take a miracle for us to make the tourney.
I can't give up yet because I love it too much when we're good at basketball.

The program is currently in a better state than Late Stansbury because at least we don't have all the embarrassing drama. The question is whether we're likely to replace Howland with someone better or not.

We don’t support because every single time he draws us in or we start to believe he lays an egg. EVERY SINGLE TIME. We know what we are getting already.

Its taken this long, but hopefully this season allows Cohen to finally pull the plug on Howland. We have GREAT athletes and totally negate them by playing slow. No adjustments. We still cannot win against a zone.

I wouldn't be opposed to a move from howland, but we better have our guy before we pull the trigger. I don't think most coaches out there see us as a good job. Just say frick it, and hire Rick pitino

we wouldn't have these players without Howland. Iverson went 2-11 from 3. And we may not have signed the right 2 guard.

But who cares if we have the players if they aren’t coached correctly or perform? I’d rather take my shot with a guy who can coach who may still get in good players with an actual plan.

Exactly. There have been literally times in every one of his seasons that starts getting some traction. And I swear, every single time the fans show up, we lose in terrible fashion. Every single time. It gets old. I was the one calling for everyone to go to games and get vocal when in the stands. Yell like you actually want our team to win. I wanted people to show up early and not just when we are playing Tenn, KY, or Ole Miss. But guess what. The fans haven't shown up. So here we are. Talent to make a sweet 16 and cannot manage 3k for a home game, on Sunday afternoon against a P5 team?
So who contributed to this loss. 1st it is the fans, then Howland and then the team. In that order.
Howland go the players, it is our job to show up and make this a tough place to play. Basketball moreso than any other sport. The fans contribute.
If nothing else, we can boo them if they come out in an unacceptable manner and cheer like a crazy ass person if they are actually playing with energy.

There are zero reasons why a team should ever play us in anything other than zone. Howland hasn't beat a team in 6 seasons that ran a zone against him. Not a single one in my memory. Same thing with Leach. teams that are athletic like OM and Ark beat us with the 3-8 defense. If you have the horses and deliver hit after hit on catches in front of you, we faulter.
I am watching OK State and Arizona, both of those teams would beat us by 25 because they run every opportunity they can.

I will add this to the discussion. The fans are giving us nothing. Even the ones that do go to the games, just sit there like they are 17n church. Get the F up and cheer. No chance we had more than 3k there today. Raise some hell from the stands.
So until our fans show up, they deserve a share of the blame as well. Winners never have to worry about fans showing up, but at some point the fans need to push the issue and force our team to play like they want to be there.

lol @ blaming fans. Maybe if Howland would beat P5 teams rather than flex against little sisters of the poor, fans would show up. It's almost remarkable how good he is at killing any traction or momentum in a season and program.
