But it does lead into a good question of how did several universities start using the same clip art type graphic. Not that I researched all of them, but odd that others also have it as well.
It just is not very unique.
The last Saturday of games, Iowa State with their Banner Istate and black uniforms looked similar to our black uniforms being worn on same day. Just a couple of state schools wearing black and with the same Banner State over their letter.
That is my soap box I guess for logos, ha, so I appreciate the conversation about it actually.
Flying M seem to me more unique.
Track? Never would have thought that. As for everyone using the same look - that's easy. "Creative" firms and consultants aren't all that "creative" and original. They copy what works and what is perceived as popular.

I love the Flying M - but I also understand how it isn't readily apparent that it is Mississippi State. I think "State" schools always have a harder time with branding and logos then the "University of ...." schools that get to use a simple letter (Michigan, Georgia, Florida, etc). I think that is why so many people identify with the M over S and the interlocking MSU of the later 90s - you see that on a baseball cap and you know who it is immediately who it is.
