Before some of y'all start, they ain't more talented, but they are a better team.
We lost because a normally bad 3 point-shooting opponent shot double their average. Had they shot their season 3 point average prior to tonight with everything else remaining the same, we win by 8 on an all around poor effort. It doesn't make it any less disappointing but this game was absolutely a fluke.

Unfortunately, not a fluke. We need to work on our identity on offense and defense. They shot such a high clip because the continously hit open shots. Looke like they were doing a shoot around while we rotated late.

Basketball team channeling their inner Moorhead

Teams that shoot well and move well are going to give us problems. We want to run and bang. Just a bad matchup for us. This is the first warning sign of an early ncaa tourney exit. I know it's early, but if we can't beat teams like that we'll fall quickly to a good midmajor.

Tonight we really missed Little Spoon. Plus they got all the loose balls and shot double % on 3 pointers. Bad omen when we play for last Shot Iverson shoots too quickly and they Bank in a 3, to go up by 3 at half.

Yes we did. We had real trouble in the half court offense at the point. The other thing I think we got out done in was second chance points. At one time they had a big advantage. Woodard was also basically neutralized. Very disappointing game. That being said, I'll be surprised if that bunch doesn't Dance. I like the way they get after it and their ball mvemnt is really good. That coach is one to keep an eye on.

Yep.

Auburn just had to win in OT against Furman. Like I said earlier, it’s basketball. Don’t give up on these guys.

Every time. You can almost bet the house
And like clockwork our fans will quit on the team because of one loss they don?t deem worthy.

The reason they shot that well is they were getting WIDE open uncontested shots. It was no fluke. Their ball movement destroyed us.

I just hatebthese long extended breaks like this.
Didn't we lose a non conference game a couple years ago under Howland against a team we shouldn't have after like a 10 day break from games? Feel like this is something we should be looking at.
During our break from 11/25 until yesterday, La Tech played 2 games while we played none. That's got to give them an advantage.

Now it's 12/14 before we face Kansas st

Between 11/25 and our game with Kansas State we play 1 game, which was last night.
In that same time frame Kansas State will play 5 games.
That is really really bad for us. Can't let that happen.

Say what you want, but this is very true for the past 8 years. Just when the fans start to pay attention, they lose. Happened every single year that Lamar Peters was here.

How long has the current coach been hear?

Clearly we didn’t play with the same intensity we did the first 7 games, but it’s not like it ruined the season completely . We will probably go 9-4 in non conference and 10-8 or 11-7 in SEC. Whether that will be good enough to get us to the dance will depend on other teams resumes. I’m not surprised by the loss because we are not a top 25 team, but I think this team has the best chance of making the 2nd round or sweet 16 with Nick back depending on seeding.

That's absurd. Howland and Cohen over reacted trying to beat Villanova with Spoon.

We would not make the tournament with that record.
We need to go more like 10-3 in OOC and 11-7 in the SEC at worst and even then I wouldn't like our chances.
I think we will go 11-2 and 12-6.

This break at least makes sense - finals started this morning.
"After dealing with Ole Miss for over a year," he said, "I've learned to expect their leadership to do and say things that the leadership at other Division I schools would never consider doing and to justify their actions by reminding themselves that "We're Ole Miss.""

How dare we let finals get in the way of basketball.
