NCAA upholds Mizzou's Bowl Ban
What a joke. For those of you who don't know, Mizzou had a few tutors write papers, do HW ,and take tests for athletes. Mizzou found out, self reported, and the NCAA hit them with a 3 year probation, 1 year bowl ban, $10 MILLION in athletic department loses + 1% of the FB budget, and major recruiting restrictions... all for self reporting something that no institution in the country can actually control and probably goes on at 90% of them. Mizzou appealed just the bowl ban and the NCAA waited MONTHS (no doubt as a passive aggressive extra punishment) until there were legally only a few days left to issue a ruling, then of course upheld the BS ruling.
State found out a tutor was taking a class for athletes, self reported, and we lost those athletes for 2/3rds of the year and got 3 years probation.
UNC lawyered up and told the NCAA to F off, got literally ZERO punishment for paper classes that were used far more widespread than the tutor crap was for Mizzou or State.
OM lawyered up and told the NCAA to F off and got about 1/5th of what they should have gotten. Had Leo chose not to speak, it would have been even less.
Why does stonewalling work? Because the NCAA has no legal power. They can't supena witnesses, they can be sued by the school if they punish a school based on shady evidence.
FIRE BRACKY, AND NEVER EVER SELF REPORT. F the NCAA. Let them come to town and take our chances. It's proven time and time again to work out better.
Thank you for coming to me ted talk

Not understanding what MO got and what we got while UNC seemed to not get anything. shit's hard to figure.

Pretty straightforward to me. If you give the NCAA a hammer to hit you over the head with, they will. If you fight back they are too incompetent and gutless to do much.

A school has fake classes? Meh, that's up to the accrediting agency, it's not an NCAA thing. Students do HW for other students, thereby making it effectively half a paper class for those students? Oh man, thats 10)% under NCAA rule and they'll hammer you for it. That's the standard the NCAA has set with their rulings.
Cohen, Keenum, and the cigar boys better pay attention. Normally I'm all for the slow, moral, and correct way of doing things... HOWEVER, when the cops are just as likely to shoot you as they are to arrest the person who attacked you, you don't call the cops anymore. We should avoid the NCAA having a say in anything as much as possible. F Brackey

NCAA is such a spineless operation who piles on the little guy while letting the blue bloods do whatever they want. LSU and Aub in basketball is also a travesty. Missouri just got read their rights as far as SEC pecking order. They are near the bottom. MSU and Olemiss continue to fight out a key spot in middle of pecking order.

But that's his point. Ole Miss fought and got less. We reported and got more.
Ole Miss is not Alabama or anything like that.

This will help Ole Miss if they win Thursday. I look and could be off a little but there are 39 bowl games this season. There are already 70 bowl eligible teams. There are 13 5-6 teams going into this week end. Right now there is 8 available spots in bowl games that they are short six win teams. It comes down to how many of those 13 5-6 teams win this week end. I think Ole Miss somewhere between 6 and 8 in the APR rankings.
