    Rosebowl on Boneyard

"There are influential people among the MSU family that don't believe we are seeing enough progress this season to believe we will be any better next year. Therefore, why not make the change now and let next year's down year be the transition year."

"There have been steps taken to ensure the continuity of MSU football. Feelers have been put out to agents to get a feel for the interest in the job should it come open. There has been interest."

Is there any truth to the rumors of Norvell, Hud, and Napier reaching out?

I don't know but I'd guess there is a really good reason why all those names have surfaced this week.

I have no doubt that Hud and Napier would be interested. Not sure on Norvell.

Clark. Probably Napier. I'm sure Hud has reached out.

Another thing. I think the emergence of this info shows that our administration is sending a clear shot across the bow of this coaching staff.

You know as well as I do that he has been given the green light to spread this message, it started yesterday with Murray and will continue. Before this they were passing along the party line.

Which I get but is also a problem.

There is a market for sports talk radio in Mississippi that just says it like it is.

Yeah 007 “it’s been confirmed” he was coming back no matter what even after UT...just lying. The talks about moving forward without Joe started in earnest right after that game and it was very serious discussions. It’s been on going for weeks now. Just have to wait and see

I will say that information received during a football season is time sensitive. Reality changes from week to week. It’s entirely possible that we were planning on bringing him back a month ago and now things have potentially changed. Just playing devil’s advocate here, I do agree that the GP crew usually totes the water for MSU.

The fact that it's gotten this far means you almost have to let him go.

The folks with big checkbooks that were still on the fence completely jumped off after the ut debacle. They're embarrassed(as we all are) over the incompetence we've shown. As I've said there's interest in our HC job and it's a waiting game now to see if the triggers pulled or not. A loss in the egg guarantees it and even if we win not sure that joe survives. There's a lot of people pissed off and embarrassed.

We will have a new coach next year. Transition year my ass. You don't keep Joe around wrecking the program for a transition year. That's beyond stupid. Rosie can sell that shit somewhere else.

Norvell reached out after Tennessee is my understanding. Napier has been hot and heavy over the last two or three weeks. I don't think Hud has reached out but he would be interested I'm sure.
