This is what a freshman QB looks like without the athletes that Lawrence and Tua have. Nix has all the tools it seems. Will be interesting to see him progress over the next few years.

I realize he's a true freshman but Malzahn citing taking care of the ball as a primary reason Nix won the job is looking pretty questionable right now. He could and maybe should have four interceptions.

Yeah, I think he'll be good. Pretty much a baptism by fire tonight though, so far.

Yeah games to fast for him right now and as you said he doesn't have the athletes of bama or Clemson.

Auburn comes out of the half and gets a delay of game.
All the usual suspects killed Joe for that happening after a change in possession early.
Herbie tells you the truth that it’s just week 1 rustiness.

Georgia's not exactly killing Vanderbilt. It's 24-6 in the 4th quarter.

Possibly the worst top to bottom the SEC has been since the 90s. Its Bama Georgia and the rest are very average. Granted all of college football looks rough currently
-
That seemed stupid for the Oregon coach to waste a timeout there. Take the penalty and maybe you don't punt it into the endzone.

Georgia just fumbled inside Vandy's 5 yard line, and Vandy ran it back 20 or so yards.

Lsu is going to be pretty good.

Mizzou looking like TN right now

Auburn's not dead yet. Just down 1, probably should be tied.

The question imo is "Is the SEC down, or is it the new NCAA practice limitations making everyone worse?". I think the answer is "yes" to both. Practice limitations still doesn't excuse OM losing to Memphis, SC losing to NC, Arky barely beating Portland State, Kentucky struggle with Toledo, or TN losing to a 2-10 FCS team. Objectively speaking the bottom of the conference sucks in ways we can't blame on NCAA limitations.
However nationally it seems as though the top teams aren't blowing out their cupcakes like they usually do. Maybe the NCAA rules mean no team can reach their potential this early in the season, and so teams with high potentials are effected relatively more than teams with low potentials?
OSU won 45-21 vs a G5 team, Iowa State took 3 OTs to beat a FCS team, Michigan state didn't blow out their G5, all of those teams are ranked. There's a few teams that looked sharp, but there's a big lack of 52-3 blowouts you expect from a ranked vs G5/FCS game.
So I'd say the whole of CFB is sloppy early/down, but the SEC dropped more than the average

Oregon coach needs to learn the rules
