That being said I personally like how the Southern coaches really focus on bunting for hits. Laying down bunts for hits is a lost art and can really close the talent gap of teams. The pressure makes a team play tight and get off of their game. See Coastal Carolina a few years back. Yalls coach is a good one. He was calling pitches and giving interview at same time. Being a former scout he knows as much about the game as almost anyone in baseball. Enjoy the weekend and best of luck the rest of the way.

Lastly, I thoroughly enjoyed yall breaking one off in whiny ass Manieri and LSU earlier this year. I live in New Orleans and their fans were excessively cocky before the season and they were ranked #1. Had some of the make snide comments before the year at work. Love seeing the corndogs squirm.

Can someone post the Manieri gif of him jumping at home plate?
SU didn’t pitch it’s #1, #2, #3, or #4 starter. Coach went with a soft tossing lefty, which y’all struggle with, who has been very inconsistent. He took a gamble. Our ERA’s might be high, but y’all have to understand our conference (SWAC West), it’s full of athletes playing baseball, who have ability to beat out a throw on a ground ball.

The only player to be the #1 overal pick twice, Danny Goodwin is a SU Jag. SU has a NAIA national championship and playing in the World series multiple times. SU also has two national player of the year winners, Danny Goodwin in 1975 and Golden Spikes winner Rickie Weeks in 03. Between 02-04 SU had the most players drafted in college baseball 24. Coco Crisp was at SU and couldn?t get on the field so he transferred after his freshmen season. We were down the last 5 years because of NCAA and a aging Legend coach but we will be back shortly.

I love the way y'all play the game! Aggressive at the plate and on the bases. That's my kinda baseball! Good luck the rest of the way!

I'm sure those ERA's get inflated some in OOC play too.

Not really. Mostly all our high scoring games were in conference play.

Honestly, what we did yesterday was similar to some of our midweek games. We barely beat Samford and Memphis. Wasn't it Valley where we were shut out for 6 innings? It's amazing we never lost a midweek game. Pretty much every team does.

We have struggled so much in fact, it usually screws us up the next couple of games as well. See ark series after that pitcher that took us 8 innings as a 80mph fb freshman.

I don't know if it takes 3 days to make an adjustment on that. We actually hit better the first game at Arkansas.

Yea y?all touched him up, but he should have been out the inning. It?s a different game if we don?t walk so many and have those two crucial errors.
