Ginn starting tomorrow..............

I like it. Ginn doesn't need to go against Miami because they have too many lefties. We will probably play Miami 1-2 times, and I think Plumlee is a better matchup for them. I also trust Plum more in high pressure situations, which the later games will be.

Me too. Oh well, I try not to worry about things like this too much. He should mow them down. I guess Plumlee on Sunday then after Small on Saturday.

Smart! We need Small vs the #2 seed with the lefty heavy lineup

I don’t think that’s very smart, totally gives away the SWAC advantage we had.
Let’s hope we jump out to a 12-0 lead early and pull him after 40

Could be the idea. Pull him and then start him if needed on Monday with a low pitch count.

I doubt the decision was ever involved small vs southern. I think it was plumlee or ginn

Somehow I doubt it. We probably made some assurances on arm use to get him in school

I was thinking Plumlee or maybe even Smith BUT winning the first 2 is the trick to these regionals. It would be disastrous to lose the first game to Southern and if I am Lemonis, I wouldn’t want to be in that situation.
If we win the first 2, Plumlee will pitch against someone’s (probably miami’s) number 4 and Smith against someone’s number 5 if needed.
Smith should also be able to throw an inning in the first game if needed. It would be nice if we beat the breaks off of Southern early and can throw Cerantola and see how he does and hopefully save some pitching.
-
Would have rather seen Plumlee but as long as we win the first 2 I don’t care who throws. Winning the first 2 are a must.

The only way this makes sense is to pitch him a few innings and then bring someone else in, so he's still available for the last game should we need it. But like 7 said, he came here with a limit in place so I doubt it.
I guess it's not the worst scenario, but it's not the best either.

Could this be to give Ginn more time to rest leading to the Supers? Pitching vs Southern gives him 2 more days than if he went game 3. Plumlee can recover faster
OR, if we want to be pessimistic... Ginn's arm is acting up again and Plumlee is the better pitcher right now, so by throwing Ginn we're throwing our #3

It makes sense if they would rather Plumlee take on Miami, who has 6 lefties, in the 3rd game.

Ginn needs a little confidence boost, too. Recovered well but had a rocky start against Ole Miss and did not pitch well against LSU.
-
Ginn is young, has struggled some as of late, and he's never been in a situation as high pressure as this. Nothing in high school can prepare for the environment he will be part of tomorrow.
If we are in a win or go home scenario and I have my choice of Plumlee or Ginn, right now I take Plumlee. Doesn't mean he's better than Ginn, but he's been there done that before and has a crap ton more experience on his side.
Let Ginn get his feet wet against a team he should dominate. Get the confidence up and get him rolling. We will need him in a big time situation if we are going to win the whole thing.
-
Good move; I like Small in second game. Ginn should handle Southern fine. From here on out, Small got to pitch in ace moments on prime time. That is what you do when you have one of best pitchers in college baseball.
-
Been wondering why I hadn?t seen this scenario thrown out. Personally I have no issue with it and kinda like it.

I think it's more that Ginn just hasn't been the same since he missed those games with a sore shoulder.
