Yeah, but the only one we have spent any time at #1 at recently has been football. We CAN do it in football, if our poor old whooped down MSU attitudes will let us. Those attitudes include the "we will never do it" and the "we could do it NOW if only we had the right coach" idiots. The truth is somewhere in between. It won't be easy, and it won't be a "hire the right guy" thing. What we HAVE to do isJeep the floor up, no matter WHO the coach is. You have to look at this over the long haul. Keeping the FLOOR up consistently is WAY more important than elevating the ceiling in one particular year.
Do you REALLY want to compare how many times our baseball team- currently ranked #2-3 has been ranked #1 in the country historically compared to football? MSU baseball has actually played for National Titles before. MSU football hasn't yet. That's why our fans care about baseball.
