I wonder if Marshall Gilbert will continue at 3rd.

I liked the changes we made with Gilbert at 3rd. He looks to have a cannon arm.
Halter is two-time drafted MLB prospect pitcher, no reason he can't contribute in other ways than everyday 2nd baseman

The national record is 418 hits, so I wouldn't say there are "plenty of games". He should get the SEC record though.

If only he would move 5 inches closer to the plate when he bats. Just watch his next AB and you will see what I mean.

It was me. However, much like Cole's other outings where he may allow a run (in this case perhaps controversially) he still manages to get the job done. To me, Cole and Keegan are about the same type of pitcher at this point. Either one really could be the closer. Keegan is more dominant one time through the order thus far and may be better than Cole although we also haven't seen him close this year either. Both typically get the job done.
I thought the bullpen- Leibelt in particular really stepped up. Small did a great job to get through seven despite scuffling in the first which was key as well. Barlow continues to do well and no one was really overexposed.

You got it! Our coaches are starting to learn what our pitchers can and can't do now that they have data to draw on.

With Cole remember you pitch different with 1 run lead than you do with a 4 run lead. With 4 runs you want to make sure and don't walk anyone, let them hit it and trust you defense. That is what he did.

there are a lot more things we need to find before a closer

Yep, and he really didn’t allow that run. Funny how Arkansas got the benefit of the reverse call at home and we didn’t. Both were clearly out at the plate. Hell, the Tennessee guy didn’t even touch home plate until after the ump signaled safe. The replay got the Arkansas call right and ours wrong.
