We are going to play to win. Never said that. But in the big picture, this game will have zero effect on our national perception or seeding in the NCAA Tournament.
We are getting guys reps. Hancock at DH is very telling that Lemonis is playing for depth experience. You will see guys subbed in on the mound too.m even after they do well. This game will build experience more than anything.

I'm not dumb. Skelton was never going to catch. But he could have been DH like he has before in a game like this. He's not.

Incorrect.
In national perception, sure, we already won the series, meaning even if we lose we'll come out of this very, very well. But a sweep in a series like this would make even bigger waves.
And in regard to seeding, an additional win on the road against a team like Florida is huge for RPI. You grab as many of those as you can get.

This is not a hard concept guys. Lemonis wants us to play hard and win. Duh. But he's not putting his best 9 out there.
Skelton could be DH. He's not. He's sitting and Hancock is getting the DH.
Everyone of you bashing me wanted Rowdey to stay in until you actually watched a damn baseball game. Now that you actually watched, all of a sudden it's "duh he's sitting he can't hit". That's not what you said 4 hours ago.
Gilbert, not Jones at catcher. That's very telling because I think all would agree Jones is the better catcher.
Come on guys. I never said we wouldn't play to win. But big picture this game is not a season difference maker. We are building depth and getting other guys reps because that's more important right now. We've got the series win we will be Top 4 next week. We are playing for a national title. Losing this game doesn't make anyone think any less of this team. But winning it pitching a bunch of guys and making lineup changes does.

Then why is Skelton not the DH?

Coaches always have to balance playing your best players and getting everyone experience. You are correct that this is a good time to get a couple guys experience. You're wrong that winning this game means nothing.
Otherwise, why is Cumbest not playing? Why is Williams not playing? Why is Jordan not playing? Why is Jones not playing?
If this game doesn't help us at all, why not get everybody experience? Because winning this game is still big.

Because there is a middle ground between your suggestion and my suggestion. But I would be stunned if we didn't see all of those guys you mentioned today.

Things that are clear is that Lemonis didn't do what most of this fan base said we should do 4 hours ago and say well we are winning let's just keep it the same. Did you say that before game 1 of this DH?

I played. And I never said they shouldn't sit him...I said there are reasons why I can understand why they aren't. But you making a fool of yourself in your last 10-12 posts has zero to do with that, and I can definitely tell you that you're not smarter or more knowledgeable about baseball than the rest of us. And you haven't watched more games either. So just stop trying to dig out of this dumb hole you've created, because trying to call everyone else dumb and yourself a baseball genius is only making you look worse.

I didn't cal anyone dumb. I've watched every second of every game this year. But most of us on here have that MSU mentality where we have to scrap for every win to validate ourselves. This is not one of those teams so our mentality has to be different. Unless this thing absolutely blows up, we are a 1 seed. And if we go 17-13 in conference we are a national seed.
Fan base has to think bigger picture is all I'm saying. This game is not nearly as important as it has been in the past because we aren't going to be borderline. We are there now. We are a bona fide Top 5 program this year. This fan base has to think differently is all I'm saying.
When I said this game didn't matter, that didn't mean don't play to win. It just meant we weren't going to put our best 9 out there. We didn't put our best 9 out there game 3. It's more important to develop guys like Hatcher, Gilbert, and Hancock against upper echelon programs because they may have to replicate that again in 3 months when the games matter more. And I'll be stunned if Jordan and Jones don't hit along with one or two other guys.
Of course we want to win. And we will play to win. But conventional baseball strategy, especially when it comes to personnel, will not hold in this game. That's all I'm saying.

Every game matters and you play to win every game. We lost game 3 due to Keegan blowing an inning. We also left some runners in scoring position. Top 5 hitters in the order went 3 for 20 in game 3
Hancock at DH was not surrendering, LH has actually hit very well this season we just have too much talent at Catcher
Big question is why Jones never started. UFs tiny ballpark would be great for his effortless power
