Series win on the road to start SEC play against a ranked opponent. Great job guys! Now playing with house money for a chance at a sweep.
I would sit Rowdy with whoever in left, play Jones at catcher, and DH Skelton to give him and his knees a little rest. Hopefully James can give us a quality start.

Today was the first time I've seen Rowdy really look out of sorts. His ABs were hard to watch. He's obviously pressing and out of confidence right now. I think he sits midweek and you go from there. Not sure he gets pulled next game but we'll see.

Yes this is beyond ridiculous. He has to sit.

But there's no point in sitting him midweek.
I’d sit him midweek to not only give the extended break to him, but also make sure his replacement keeps up the proper level of defense before putting whoever out there in SEC play.

What were rowdey's fall numbers?

Most impressive thing to me is how our O doesn't let up. I think we've scored in over half the frames this series... that's unreal, and shows consistent performance. it's not just a couple bad innings for Florida, we're consistently getting after their pitchers. Their D hasn't been bad either

My guess is this is the first time a lot of folks on here have actually seen him hit. It's not good right now.
After seeing that last a/b I'm gonna agree w/you Met.....You know, he's never had a pretty swing and his mechanics aren't great anyway but I'm not sure a simple tweak to his mechanics would work or not but you might as well try something. What's the old saying about doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results.

Surely Hatcher can play lf, right? He looks better at the plate than Cumbest does, and is certainly hitting better than Jordan.

Gautreau and Lemonis are elite offensive coaches. Add to that we kept Gautreau and his approach and that consistency has helped even through having 4 different head coaches in 4 years. It’s amazing how consistent we’ve been these last four years SR, SR, CWS, and possibly another CWS run this year. I don’t think that gets stated enough. We are an elite baseball school.

My lineup game 3 would be this:
Mangum - CF
Westy - SS
Allen - 1B
Mac - RF
Foscue - 3B
Skelton - DH
Jones - C
Jordan - 2B
Hatcher - LF

Our fans want to throw Halter to the wolves so bad but he keeps making a big play in every game

I'm fine with Halter but Landon needs at bats. Game 3 of a series we've already won on the road at Florida is a great time to do that.
Got to continue developing depth and this is the game you do that in.

Halter is slow getting jumps defensively. Yet he's better than Landon right now defensively. Starting Hatcher in LF is a big step down defensively. With the way we are pitching and have hit this eeekend is stay w defense for now. I get it, at some point rowdy has to sit though. He's missed multiple cock shots that he's dribbled it popped straight up.

And honestly I would let everyone pitch today. Spring, Cerantola, Eagan, Barlow, and anyone else we want. Let these guys get experience on the road in an SEC environment in a game that really doesn't matter.

We've got a team that could win the SEC, let's play the best 9 we have and try to win game 3. Give people at bats midweek.

This game doesn't matter. You sit Rowdey and let other guys play. Game 3 is a get experience game, not necessarily a play to win game. You use game 3 as a chance to develop guys so they are more prepared when the games matter more in May and June.

And getting at bats against Little Rock and Sanford help them how? I don't want them getting those at bats. I want them getting at bats against good teams so they are ready when we really need them against good teams at the end of the season.
Very short sighted to just always field the best 9 against good teams and a worse 9 against bad teams.

Hell this game matters tremendously as far as getting a sweep on the road. 2-1 is great but 3-0 weekend negates a 1-2 week later.

I agree, we might need that 1 win at the end of the season to break a tie or decide a seed. Play to win!
