Dak's postseason passer rating and QBR - top 4 in both.
-
people naturally want to hate Dak since he's the Cowboys QB. He misses a lot of routine throws and makes some terrible plays, which gives them the ammo they need to convince themselves they're right.
But the overall stats, the postseason play, and 4th Q play proves he's a pretty good QB. Add in the fact his OL isn't always great, a much of this season he's had bad WRs, he's still young and can improve, and his OC sucks, and you've got a guy you can build a team around.
But Dak does give the haters enough bad plays to justify their pre conceived notions. They see a missed TD and a missed short pass or 2 and then they ignore the 70% completion percentage, the game winning drive, and the 2 great runs he had no business making

Wait?? You seem to be alluding to the fact that bad receivers impact the performance and perception of a QBs performance. How can that be? A certain 200 post a day poster says WRs don?t influence QB stats.

?Another Fitz bashing thread. Give Fitz the receivers if just about any other SEC team and he is right up there with anyoothee SEC qb. Our lack of receivers has more to do with his passing than he did. Why are some so dense on this subject."

Only difference in tua, fromm, and fitz passing is WR play, right? You really should bury this subject

Dak is a really good player. He's just not perfect.
He's going to have a long, awesome career.
CAN'T PUT A SADDLE ON A MUSTANG
Quit Your Bi$&$&?!, He's Not Going to Run the Ball More

Dak's going to be bringing down $20+ million in a few months. He looked better than Goff and Wentz the second half of the season after they went back to zone blocking and got Cooper. Gallup is Terrance Williams 2.0 and Jarwin looks like an able TE. They still need a couple pieces but Dallas was one of the youngest teams in the NFL this year.

Fitz was a hard thrower who was inaccurate. Not a good combination for any receivers. No time to react to inaccuracy and hard throw is hard to catch away from your body.

Even then, we have probably 2 more wins and Fitz probably is around 55-60% completions if his WR drop rate is around SEC league average. Fitz senior year will also be what could have been. If he isn't hurt and can go through spring, if Mullen doesn't leave, if his WRs don't drop passes like crazy, if he was comfortable in the offense, there are tons of ifs but every season has something like that.
Bottom line, Fitz played his ass off when the lights came on and gave everything he had. He wasn't a great fit for Moorhead's offense but it probably benefitted him if he has any chance at playing QB in the NFL, probably went from 0%-5%. Hopefully someone looks at Hill for New Orleans and thinks Fitz might be a good fit for that.

Fitz's draft stock went down preseason to now

As the title says, these are postseason stats.

Yeah, Moorhead didn't cover a lot of Fitz's deficiencies like Mullen did. I think Fitz was good enough in practice that JoeMo thought he could do well. Once he hit SEC defenses then the wake up call hit.

Never said that was only difference. Simply stated that Fitz would be a top SEC QBs with improved receivers. He has a running ability those others didn?t. Raising his passing would put him in the upper tier of QBs. Better WRs improve passing.
Funny how I have explained this to you a dozen, times yet you cannot understand a simple concept almost everyone else here does.
Here I go again. Give Fitz Bama, A&M, Georgia and almost every other SEC team and his stats dramatically improve. We had one of the highest drop rates, if not highest in SEC. educating you on drop rate is that the ball was catchable. Give Fitz a WR Corp with a lower drop rate, that equals higher completion percentage. See how this works? So by basic stats and logic alone,, better receivers would have improved Fitz stats. The numbers are there and are not up for debate. Why you must continue saying WR play didn?t impact Fitz, but it does help others is quite astonishing. We get it. You want Mullen to look like god and by blaming WR shittastic play on Fitz you cover for your man crush and his shitty offensive recruiting.
-
It's fair to say we had shitty receivers who didn't help fitz and fitz also didn't help the receivers. Also, just curious how many of the drops are due to fitz slinging a rocket from 10 yards away on a pass that needed some touch? I'm sure by the definition of a drop, it was "dropped", but it was also not anywhere near a highly catchable pass.
-
I definitely think fitz would've been better passing with better WRs. He wouldn't be the passer fromm and tua are though if he had his pick of sec WRs. Fitz is a really good college QB in a Mullen or Gus malzahn type offense. Fitz is not a good QB in a pass happy offense. I do think fitz gets drafted late or at least signed as a FA though bc he has elite size and arm strength. He'll be a lottery ticket for some nfl team.
