We must have an above avg coach willing to put in extra time to evaluate and develop the 3 star sleepers that don't get the attention from the bamers of the world. We CAN progress this way. It just will take blue collar overtime.
We absolutely can progress with a developmental approach. I think the biggest issue before was that Dan would check out at the end of the year which cost us at least two maybe even three Egg Bowls which hurt us in the perception department despite winning 8-9 games. That's why winning the Egg Bowl is so important for us and why it should remain that way. Not saying that we should fight them every time and act like Ole Miss in 2017 or anything like that. But emphasis on the game is important. Because a lot of those three star developmental guys are from Mississippi. And then losing I think potentially hurts us with the 4-5 star players in the classes of the future. If we start to become the football program in Mississippi we will start to land more and more of those four and five star players in state.

The other real obstacle I see right now is Saban at Alabama. But that's also an obstacle for everyone else in the SEC as well. Hopefully once he leaves the series can return to it's 1996-2000 status. That's honestly a little optimistic but I can see a day where after he leaves that we beat them at a clip about where we have played LSU and Auburn since 2014.
