Somehow it will be a tradition they have embraced for 30 years.

BTW.....there has been some talk in Knoxville, TN about changing the city's name to KnoxVegas. Any ideas as to where they got this?

Yeah this isn't really unique to Starkville at all.

How many college towns have used that in the past 8 years?

I didn't realize it had to be a college town to end in 'ville'.

    Who really cares?

Also, that has been used much longer than 8 years in Starkville....and every where else. Not sure what the 8 year time frame has to do with it.

Maybe just me, but I don't recall any others. Got any examples?

There are exceptions to everything, quit being so obtuse.

I've definitely heard people use NashVegas.

And what do you know there is a college there.

No because no one gives a 17 and I definitely don't care enough to try to look any up.

I've lived in east Tennessee since 1996 and I can remember hearing both "KnoxVegas" and "NashVegas" during most of my 22 years here. And it's not just them -- some people in my town thought it was clever to say "ChattaVegas" too. I've heard less of it in the past decade than I did before, but that could have as much to do with my age as with the prevalence of the terms.

Nice to know there are some fellow dogs here in ChattVegas™. Only been here a year and never heard it used. Probably won't be trying to bring it back either ha.
