Any truth to us getting Mason Fine next year?
I’ve heard it’s a done deal if Bryant says no, and I’ve heard it’s unlikely he leaves unless the coach for UNT goes.

Are you saying fine and the coach would have to be a package deal?

No. If Litrell takes a better job then he’d leave to go to a different school too. Not necessarily the same.

So is he coming depending on Bryant or the coach? I'd prefer Fine over the two.

What would the dead Indians think? Fine is a citizen of the Cherokee Nation.

Emery to LSU surprising no one. He played us and Georgia into a big pay day at LSU

Kelly Bryant will not be an upgrade to anything State has put on the field at QB this year.

Red flags all over him. He is also not a pro talent.

If Jo thought we had a QB to run the offense next year, he wouldn’t be looking for one. That’s all I need to know. He’s going to flip the whole offensive roster in two years.

I have no problem with pursuing a qb. It's Bryant i object to. He is not good

He’s better than what we’ve got. But we aren’t going to get him.

I should clarify. I’ve heard two different takes. One says he’s a lock to us unless Bryant unexpectedly says yes. The other says he’s staying put unless the UNT coach goes elsewhere (he’s a shortlist name to replace Riley at OU if Riley goes to the NFL.)

People putting a lot of stock in our backups are garbage. We basing this off hear say and rumours. Heck we heard Fitz and the WRs were lights out in practice. We haven't seen Key or Mayden enough in live action to throw them out with they bathwater. But have seen a HC too stubborn to adjust his offense to fit his talent. We have seen Fitz suck it up multiple games, yet again JoMo resisted change.
Same HC burn Keys possibility to red shirt with no meaningful snaps, my bad SFA. Now we want a 1 year rental that MAYbe better than Key or Mayden? I would rather use that spot for a red shirt OL or WR, Lord know we need options and depth at both.

1. Some of us tried to tell everybody our receivers sucked.
2. Key didn’t want to redshirt. Reports from camp have been he’s struggled with the offense.
3. Mayden was dropped by Penn St. when Jo was there.
4. We are loading up on OL and WRs
I agree with the refusal to change his offense much though. I’d take Bryant if he wanted to come.

I've stayed out of these Bryant discussions bc I doubt we get him but what the hell are y'all talking about? Bryant would be a Top 5 conference QB for us and the perfect 1 year guy to groom Schrader.

I finally agree with you on something. Competition is good.

I've watched Bryant for 5 years. He's not an upgrade. He doesn't read defenses well. He's like Jalen Hurts with tremendous talent around him, only doesn't make big plays. Don't kid yourself. He's not the answer.

This is ACC last year sorted by rating. Bryant wasn't a top 5 acc qb. Clemson had 2 WRs taken in the nfl draft last season (there are more NFL WRs on the roster) and renfrow. They also had an nfl RB. In yards per att, he was 8th in the ACC at 7.0 yds. That's with nfl WRs! 7.0 yds/att would be good for 11th in the sec this season. He's a dink and dunk guy that was surrounded by elite talent.

He isn't coming to compete. He is only coming if promised the job

Fitz and Bryant faced 2 common opponents (auburn and bama) last season. Here's the combined stats for each...
KB: 37/65 (56.9) 305 yds (4.7 per att) 0 td 2 int; 38 rushes 78 yds (2.0 per carry) 2 td
NF: 26/57 (45.6) 315 yds (5.5 per att) 1 td 2 int; 34 rushes 122 yds (3.6 per carry) 1 td
Now I'd love to see the passing stats if you flipped WRs. Even so, fitz still got almost 1 yard more per att
